The next time he mentions it, if you didn't tell him anything to the contrary, just tell him that you did wave, but he had already passed you. Say that by the time you realized it was him, he had passed you guys up. Or you might get away with saying "Was that you? I didn't know!" That's closer to the truth. Good luck!

wait...dont feel the need to rush and defend yourself. this will only start the beginning of a bad cycle for you. When he has calmed himself down, he will call you back or come by. Then tell him once,,only once what happened. Then let it go.. if he doesn't understand or makes a big deal out of it.. walk away from him and move on. This is such a small thing to make a big issue out of or get mad over. If he is the type of guy that does make a scene about this,, the rest of your time with him will turn into a nightmare for you. And you deserve to be treated well, always remember that

this is a hard one cuz it was a simple mistake, but now u should think.....if he is going 2 get made at something little like that,,, what is going 2 happened when u messy up again.... i mean is he going 2 get mad at u 4 every little mistake.....like what if u went out with some friends and stayed out late then stayed the night with one of them without tell him....or one of u ex's walks by and says hi??????
so u have 2 decide is this guy worth it...i would explain it 2 him and tell him never 2 act that way again.....or else...a relationship should not be this way...if it keeps up trust me it will be bad
it will be like walking on eggshells whenever ur around him just waiting for the bomb 2 drop

If he has a history of a quick temper, just break up with him - stuff like that only gets worse as time goes on. If this was the first time, perhaps he just had a really stressful day, and you should just let it blow over. Use the three strikes rule, and dump him the third time he speaks to you with irrational anger, no matter what!!

He sounds way insecure. Tell him to chill out and explain the situation. He needs to suck it up and be a man, not a child.

Tell him that you where lost. You didn't know what was going on and even through you where embarrsed by seening him in that you weren't in yo right mind when you seen him. Thats what I would have said.

Don't call him for a while. When he calms down and calls you, then explain as patiently as you can. If he doesn't call, then move on ...... cause he's immature
