Tom Cruise wore the temporary braces. He appeared on the Tonight Show last year and showed that he could remove them on the air. You can wear them most of the time and take them out on social occasions. Or you could only wear them only at night, but it will take longer to get the corrections you need.

It sounds to me like your wisdom teeth are coming in, or are impacted you should go visit your dentist. As far as your overbite is concerned, there is an alternative to metal braces it's called invisaline, most adults use it to correct imperfections in their teeth. It's a clear container that looks similar to a night guard, and from what I understand works just as well as the traditional medal braces, but is not as noticeable. With anything that has to do with teeth you should consult your dental professional.

I had braces put on when I was 40 years old. Don't let that bother you. Consult a good orthodontist. If you live near a dental school and have limited funds, sometimes they have programs where you can get the dental work done a very reduced cost.

Many orthodontist will give you a free evaluation. Don't go through life hating your smile and wondering....you can do something about this!

Get a few opinions and know there are payment options too. You will never be sorry. If you live near a dental school you may have options there as well.

Good luck sweetie--this is a matter of health and self confidence you deserve both!
