Most of the self-described atheists on Yahoo Answers appear to be more vigorous anti-Christians than they are anti-Buddhists.

I don't think we can call any of them a joke. Buddha was a great teacher as well as Jesus the only defference is that people who surrounded jesus were in a desperate need to believe in a more divine figure. About allah, he is the same god of the jews, christians and protestants too, just called Allah in Arabic.
Lots of people have died for their believe and at least they deserve respect. I am an atheist but I do respect all religions..
though religion is irrelevant for a scientific advance society we still have to respect those who still have that antiquated believe.
or maybe not...........

Athiest dont accept the concept of God as a controlling and responsible concious entity.
Now, Allah means God. So they reject that. Jesus was a person. There is no reason to doubt he existed. But athiests dont accept his divinity and miracles. Same goes for Buddha, except that Buddha never claimed he was God. Moreover he seemed to be an Agnostic.
The reason why it is Christians and Muslims who feel targetted by Athiests is because these two groups cant tolerate diversity of opinion and throughout history have tried to impose their ideas upon others. Always dreaming of a Christian or Islamic world.

Who can speak for all atheists? You are overgeneralizing. The true atheist says there are no gods. Note that I said "gods". Buddha and Jesus aren't gods. In some sermons, Jesus calls himself "the Son of Man". Guatama the Buddha expressed agnosticism and avoided metaphysics, so atheists might be more accepting of his ideas if they know what he really said. It is evident that you do not. Allah is the Moslem god, and he is all too much like Yahweh the Hebrew god to whom Moses pledged allegiance. There have been many religions, and I've studied many of them, so I can be more objective than most men. Do you imagine that atheists have some plot against Christians? In this land, there are more Christians than Buddhists or Moslems, and all too many Christians force their beliefs upon everyone. People who don't share their beliefs don't like that. Some fancy that it is fine for them to provoke people with other beliefs but awful for them to retaliate. That's a double standard.

The Buddha was real, Allah is just another made-up god and Jesus is a made-up messiah. No joke!

Not a joke. Allah is just another way of saying god; and Buddha never said he was, nor is he worshipped as, a god.

Buddha was a real person. Jesus was real too, but not divine. Allah is just the Muslim name for "God."

Buddha is not a god, he is a teacher and actually existed.
Allah and jesus on the other hand are gods. Mythological fabrications by bronze-age sheperds.
See the difference?

No religion is the correct one, and all religions have got it wrong.

There are many major religions in the world, such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, and so on. Within each major religion there can also be many minor religions. For example, within Christianity there is Catholic, Protestant, Anglican and so on. Within Islam there is Shiite, Sunni etc.

In summary there are many hundreds of different religions in the world all with their devoted believers and followers. Talk to any devout religious person and they will almost emphatically insist that their religion is the right one, it’s fact, and any non-believer is doomed.

Commonsense and logic would suggest that if there was any truthful or factual basis to religion, then only one of these religions could be correct, not all of them. However, in my view, it’s highly unlikely that any of these man-made religions bear any resemblance to fact or the truth, and are more likely to be the result of simplistic human intelligence looking for an escape from reality.

God is just another fake creation by man.

Humanity has created many Gods, for example – Gods of Olympus, Ancient Egypt, Babylon and so on. Most of us are atheists about most Gods humanity has created, except the latest craze, the current God in the Bible. Learned atheists have also rejected this version of a God, but some hard-core believers still hang on, presumably until a better image of God is created by man.

Faith in God seems to be nothing more than humans attempting to run away from reality, an excuse to avoid thinking and evaluating evidence. Faith is just an emotional escape and really just a substitute for opening your eyes to reason.

Believers talk about God creating man in his own image. It’s in the Bible so it’s fact – get a grip, get real. The facts suggest the exact opposite. Man created God in his own image. I’m sure humanity will disregard this God, as they have disregarded all previous Gods, it’s just a matter of time before humanity creates another God that better serves their emotions and image.
