party affiliation is for brain donors only.
If you want to always vote for the same party - do so. But as a registered independent, I always vote on the issues, rather than by party.
In 2004 I voted for various people - Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians & independents - some won, some lost - but I voted on the issues on every vote, without any qualms.

I tend to stick with my political party because let's face it most of the time the democrats are lesser of the two evils but if any candidate, regardless of party shares what I believe to be the best opinion or policy at that time then I will definitely vote for them.
I know that the immigration issue is a big one, I'm Mexican-American and my parents were illegal immigrants when they first came to this country now they both have residency and are part of our legal social economy. I believe that most immigrants come for a better future whether their coming from Mexico or Asia or where ever. This country is based on immigrants and I think sometimes people forget that. Yes, there is over population but what we should do is send all of the immigrants criminals back to their original countries, regardless of what country their coming from. I'm for more border patrol and tougher laws but we also have to be humane about the way we treat people and remember that immigrants don't want to steal our jobs or make our lives harder they are simply looking for a better life, one that their country doesn't always offer.

The problem with illegal immigration is that it has been allowed to go on for so long. This has created a sub class of citizens that are being exploited by corporations, etc. Unfortunately, these businesses have grown dependant on the cheap labor that they are able to force to do things the government wouldn't allow (i.e. OSHA safety).
They cannot be treated this way, but removing them completely, or just about any other action, will destroy our economy. It is sad, but true that our economy, from its inseption, has relied on a "slave" labor class to get by.
Because the politicians all know this, I doubt anyone elected will actually take real action to rein it in and if they do, things might be worse than if they didn't.

I have never nor will I ever let any group or party affiliation make me vote only according to their beliefs, that's total BS. I vote for who I think will attempt to get the job done. Unfortunately, they all play good cop, bad cop and THEY are largely all on the same side THEIR SIDE not OUR SIDE but we can keep on believing our votes are actually counted and recorded correctly without corruption if it makes us all feel better. Hey! look how good that philosophy is working out for Iraq and Afghanistan And even Lebanon? I bet they feel better too now that they can vote even though no one ever voted for any of the winners. Funny ain't it?
Illegal Immigration is just that- ILLEGAL ! if they aren't going to arrest em and send em back then we should be allowed to shoot em ourselves because they only cost us money in the form of higher taxes ( for supporting thier supposed broke asses - while they ship all thier earnins back to wherever they came from) and higher housing costs (because there aren't enough to go around in decent nieghborhoods due to the fact they trashed all the decently priced ones already)Yea I'm pissed off , I've lived in the South Bay Area most of my 40 years and it really sucks now compared to how great it used to be. If ANYONE wants to come & live here and do it legally- GREAT ! Just don't come over here to mooch off of the rest of us who pay taxes and hold real jobs! And one last thing .... It's not just Mexicans, so lets not pick on them alone, remember all those other bastards who had to take a boat because it was too far to jump or swim!

I disagree with most liberal democrats and most conservative republicans/// (all politicians have alternative agendas)... I fall somewhere in the middle of the two but I will vote for the person who will end illegal immigration and deport those who are here illegally.

I changed my affiliation from Republican to Decline to State because of the wussy, anti-American, unpatriotic stand that the majority of Republicans, our traitorious president included, have taken on a number of issues, illegal immigration most specifically.
In November, I will vote against any politician who has pandered to illegal aliens and their racist supporters like La Raza and M.E.C.h.A., including our girly man governor, Ahhnold. I will be voting Libertarian for Art Olivier, the only pro-American candidate for Governor, along with Tom McClintock for Lt. Governor. I will actively campaign against the illegal alien symp Senator Feinstein in favor of Dick Mountjoy. If there is a race in which all candidates are pro-illegal, I will vote to throw the incumbent out of office for their part in our current situation.
Americans must band together. Californians must band together, our state is on the verge of total annihilation. Vote out the pro-illegal incumbents. Research the issues and vote accordingly, not out of loyalty to the party line! Our children's futures are at stake.
Founding Father Thomas Paine said of the struggle for this Nation's independence:
"If there be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."
Let us not leave the destruction of America and her values to our children's generation to "fix." Our parent's generation did not stand up against illegal immigration and have left us an immense problem for which there are no easy answers. Will our generation stand up for our children and their children as well? Or will our children's future be destroyed by our apathy? I will never give up this fight. I will never give up my state.

I cross party lines for a variety of reasons. I am crossing back to someone rather to the right of my position, but in my party, for this election. Senator Feinstein voted for the Senate Bill, so I will vote against her. Since she is popular, I won't expect results until I see them.
I am also going to vote against Berman, which means voting for a Republican I've never heard of. I have been trying to find out something about him to make sure he isn't a baby killer or something, but I'm pretty sure I am going to vote for him.

Yeah i'd, yet in 2010 I surely have lots of the main corrupt republicans to vote for ( Senator Toomey and Joe Pitts) that i'm unlikely to. yet I did vote for Arlen Spector whilst he became the two a democrat and a republican.

I vote my conscience. I'm a registered Democrat and in all the years I've been voting (30+) I've rarely voted along party lines. I would vote for the person who would fight for the rights of those of us who are in the US legally.
