when i click on shutdown i get the classic shutdown not the modern one which has shutdown restart standby help

Try Right clicking on your task bar at the bottom of the screen.
then click properties, it will display the "task bar and start menu.
On the start menu tab check that the radio button for start menu is on and not the classic start menu
if this is the case then after that, right click the screen and adjust your display properties to suit your preferences
