my son got his first hair cut at one also...i think a lot of the important milestones happen at one. he's still a baby but no longer an infant, his dad will get over it eventually...he's probably just not ready for him to grow up yet :o)

It all depends on how fast the hair grows. Some infants need a haircut right after birth. So with that any time is ok. In some cultures and religions there are reasons not to. But for most cases its your child and you can choose to cut their hair when you want.

We cut our son's hair at 19 months. It is a Jewish Tradition not to cut the child's hair until they are at least a year in age. If done before hand it can "shorten" the person's life.

My son was born witha full head of hair. Not all of it fell out...so he had a comb over at 6 months. He had his first trim at 7 months. He is now 2 and has had at least 12 haircuts. Its not their age...its how fast and quickly their hair gets our of control

My son's hair had to be cut at 4 months. It was long in spots and when he got it cut he looked all boy.

Whenever their bangs get in their eyes or if its too uncomfortable and hot for them, just not too short and not in a mullet. I used to cut hair in a small college town and their were always rednecks coming in and wanting to cut their kids hair into a mullet or a bald fade so they could "look just like daddy". O the horror!

Usually when the child needs a haircut! If the hair is in his eyes...definetly time for a trim! The old timers rule of thumb is haircut after 1rst b-day. You gotta start sometime!

I think around the age of two. That's when both of my kids got their first hair cuts.

My son was born in August of '05 and I gave him a fade 4-06, now he is so used to having clippers to his head that he sits still pretty good for it now.
