I think about all the people that would be hurt by me hurting myself. How would my parents feel, how would my friends feel. Also, what could I possibly be missing in my future when things do get better. Things will get better, they always do.

I don't think of suicide. When it has crossed my mind, it is a sad thought that someone would do it. Suicide is never the answer , it is only the end. Any problem you may be facing right now will chance. Problems don't last forever, death does. If you are thinking about suicide, talk to a adult about it. Like a parent, minister, teacher, aunt or uncle, school councilor, grand parent ect... Just speak with someone. It is not the cure only the end. Remember there are people that love you and want you safe.

Think about what you leave behind- unresolved issues, a big hairy (and expensive) mess to clean up, grieving friends and family (no matter what, someone loves you even if they never say it). Think about the good things you like, things you would like to do- dream a little, and see if you can figure out a way to get there. Talk to a pastor or minister, or a friend. You have potential which will be wasted if you kill yourself.

Find a distraction. I have Bipolar Disorder, and when I'm even moderately depressed those thoughts float thru my head like dust flecks in an old house. I go to the mall, play with my toddler son, read a trashy novel, (have sex or masturbate), watch a stupid movie. Anything as long as there's no drama or tragedy involved.
If you are getting serious in your head about it, like making plans or dissociating (doing things without knowing what you're doing), have a friend or relative come over until you can get into treatment. Best thing is to have them take you to the ER and check you in to a mental health facility for a couple of days to get you medicated and stabilized.
You sound like a sensible, self-aware person who doesn't WANT to kill yourself, but can't stop the thoughts no matter what. Stay with us, love, no one wants you to die.

See a therapist. Explore options other than suicide as solutions to your problems. Find some way to renew hope.

talk to someone about it
it is not rare to think of suicide, you may be surprised to find that at least some of your friends and/or family have thought of it at one time or another
it will pass, i promise you, and in a day or 2 you'll see something good and be glad you got to be here to see it
talk to someone today though, even if it's a mental health hotline of some kind
*hugs* be good to yourself
i've been there

I, unfortunately, cut myself with razor because it's easier to deal with that pain than the sadness and loneliness inside. For a very brief second, I don't feel so bad inside anymore. Which I know is a terrible way to deal with it, but frankly it's all I got.

Go receive medical attention from your family doctor or call a hotline and speak to someone about your thoughts.

i think of my family & of how selfish 'comitting suicide' really is!
look at it as:-
theres people worse off than yourself & that little things can mean so much
this keeps me going & suffered depression for 21 years!!
