ok i have a serious question. first off yes this is about me i wont hide it.

my gf well she just had her baby on the 4th and she is actually quite sick. got the flu and the doctor think a large unexplainable mass on her uteres. anyways its her birthday today. and last i talked to her was last night and i kinda forbid her from drinking on her birthday. well when i said that i thought i sounded a bit liek i was controlling her. but i seriously dont think i was. i mean when i said it it sounded so much like i was caring and not wanting her to add to her pain. but anyways besides my mental rambeling. does anyone think that sounds a bit like being a control freak or not. i dont want this relationship to go off like past ones. so im trying my best not to sound like an ********.

i dont think so, it sounds like you were only thinking of her, which you probablly do a lot because you probably said it without thinking, i dont think you sound like an a$$hole, you said it was her birthday, maybe you should rent a movie that you know she would want to see, and a bag of chocolate chips, and a big boquet of flowers with a hand written note, saying how much you love and how much she means to you

Hope i helped!!!

No - I think you maybe could have phrased it a bit nicer, but you don't come off as sounding like a control freak. To be honest, if she's just had a baby & is ill, she doesn't need to be drinking, anyway - birthday or no birthday! If she was even contemplating drinking, you are right to tell her no! I hope she feels better & I also hope she sees you said it out of concern for her health.
Good luck.

I honestly don't think that you were being demanding for telling your girlfriend not to drink. Come on if she had some common sense she wouldn't even be thinking of drinking because first of all; she just had a baby and second of all she is sick. medicine and alcohol don't go together. Am a girl but am on your side. By the way congradulations on your baby.....

No just don't be pushy. Shouldn't she NOT drink since she just had the baby. I mean if she is breastfeeding, then she can't drink anyways. It will be passed on to the baby.

No. It's good to care. But maybe she NEEDS to drink to deal with the thought that this mass might be an unfriendly host.

..........err.......unless she's breastfeeding then......NO drinking....... The baby will get the hiccups.

Since you are so worried by it... don't worry. You're being thoughtful and generous and caring - there's a difference.

Good luck this time around.
