DO NOT take ibuprofen! Or any painkiller for that matter. It is inflammed due to an infection which is different from inflammation due to trauma. Salt with warm water can get results, but it's not guranteed. Take an antibiotic, you can get a prescription from your dentist.

After a pair of 12 months of this, I stronger actually the main excruciating soreness of my life, i became taking the max. dosage of painkillers, & it did no longer something. i became shaking & crying from the soreness & had to circulate to the ER (and that i'm much greater demanding of hospitals than dentists) on the hours of darkness to have the tooth pulled (w/o anesthetic, in easy terms a splash of that numbing swab, so I observed & felt all of it). please preserve it! additionally you need to get very sick systemically (throughout your physique) if the an infection spreads. did no longer mean to scare you.

Try to rinse with an equal amount of water and hydrogen peroxide. That will kill the germs and help with the pain as well. Also taking penicillen will help the swelling tremendously.

you need to go to the ER and get treated immediately, depending on the amount of swelling, it could be fatal if you ignore it until Friday. Most ER can give you something to control the swelling, but if you do nothing and it swells too much, it can affect your brain.

Can you get some anti biotics from somewhere? Short of draining it, and that needs a dentist, ABs are the only option.

as hot as you can handle salt water gargles..

if you're up to it you can apply hot water via cotton swab directly to the absess untill it 'pops' and the pressure (and pus are released)
