Two outstanding fighters. Benvenuti probably has a slight edge in overall ability and determination. I pick Benvenuti by split decision.

This question cannot truly answered until Jermain has a few more championship fights under his belt......that not being the case presently, lets get down to where we are right now.....Nino won the Val Barker award at the same Olympics that had Ali, Nino won Italian titles then the the world Jr Middle weight title, after that it was on to the world Jr Middleweight Title all of this before he won the world middleweight title.........I don't think I have to say any more....Nino Benvenuti......starts by out boxing Taylor and then takes him to school, two knockdowns later with Jermain unable to defend himself Taylor's corner decides to stop the fight in the eighth round .......winner and still champion....Giovanni "Nino" Benvenuti

Nino Benvenuti.

When Jermaine Taylor fights someone of distinction then he will get recognised in the same league as Nino. Nino won the award for the best fighter in the 1960 Summer Olympic Games, Muhammad Ali won the lightheavyweight gold medal so if he was a better boxer than Ali, that says something about his skill doesn't it.

A fine boxer and a good fighter.
