Jesus told us we would suffer as he suffered, and we are to rejoice because of it. Be of good cheer, everytime someone does that to you let it be a reminder that Jesus is who He said He was, and things are happening just as He said they would. Praise the Lord, Jesus lives!!

Well where I'm from no one is really pointing and laughing but I can understand people who don't agree with other religions. I am a christian and I personally don't have problems with others beliefs but you must understand that people outside of Christianity are taught that what they believe is the right way and the only way. Some people think that hating on another religion isn't bad. To some its all they know. If people were to open there eyes and understand that people will believe what they want and its okay to be another religion. No one is right or wrong its just a different belief.
To u we are all God's people and he will love us unconditionally so my advice to you is to pray for those who have made you feel uncomfortable and just keep on believing what you know is true!

Partially, it is that you have beliefs at all. There will always be someone who disagrees with your beliefs and say so, and not always in a "civilized" manner. Then there are what your beliefs are, for the Christian God. Remember that if your choice is the right one and Jesus or Jehovah (depending on which form of Christianity you go with) warned that there would be those who would chastise you or make fun of you for having the beliefs, in which case this is just the natural way events are supposed to happen and you should take it as encouragement actually, as Peter told us to in the Acts.
And remember also that Christians throughout history as a whole (not all of them but overall) have been crazy, violent, and unreasonable. People who aren't Christians look at what Christians in history have done and think all Christians are like that, so they ridicule and attack them even when they aren't like that. So overall it is just a matter of having to accept the jeers and disagreements sometimes, not that much you can do about it but hold to your beliefs.

As a Ministers daughter, you should know that Jesus foretold of this pointing and laughing at us. He was very clear about the abuse we would suffer as His followers.
The path is narrow enough for us to follow. Stay true to your beliefs and don't concern yourself with the people intolerant to your beliefs. Love them because you are a Christian. Walk in the Word and spread that Word. You cannot convert anyone, but if they hear the Word....the Holy Spirit can work in their hearts and bring them into the Kingdom of God.
Be careful not to judge anyone as that is not our place either. If someone insults you...turn the other cheek. That's what Jesus would do. Remember, we represent Jesus to all nonChristians and if we aren't walking the straight and narrow....that gives them more to taunt us about.
God Bless You!!!!

Because the second and otherwise only true belief is agnosticism! =D
Seriously though, it's largely about world view. People tend to get upset when you present things that are against their world view. In addition, a lot of beliefs are fundamentally illogical at some level, and people tend to abhor truely illogical events (except for the ones that they themselves personally accept).
You'll really just have to live with people having problems with your beliefs, but the discrimination people face is something that can be dealt with through other channels.

Uniformity and comformity could be one of the reasons. Being of another religion for the younger generation is oftentimes compared to belonging to a gang or click. You probably are being pointed out because you have been doing rightly what they cannot do. They want you to be like them unless you are the one who want them to be like you.
Unless it is life treathening maybe it is nice not to mind them, just keep on shining. Someday they may need your light as their guide along the way.

I used to get kicked in the balls on a weekly basis in school... and the one thing I learned is that you have to take everything as a joke if your gona get a head in life. Stay like a child and you will be forever young who doesnt want that? Well I guess there are people but to each his own. You dont wana be made fun of because of your faith then change your faith or suck it up and enjoy it. I choice to change my faith on a daily basis basicaly cept for my belief in my God. I think God is ever changing so if I wasnt to I wouldnt be following my beliefs. You can either love me for it or kill me for it the choice is yours I guess.

People point and laugh at you in the street? I can't quite follow that. No matter, though; just remember what the Lord said about those who mock us:
"'Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.'"
Keep strong in Christ, sweetie! Blessings to you!

I think that you are overly self conscious about your believes. How would anyone in the street know what you believe? Do you advertise? Some people are unwilling to accept, that other people are entitled to believe as they will. The only objection I have is, if you try to force your believes on others, through force, coercion or use of law. Other than that go for it.

The people who make fun of other's beliefs have doubts about their own. The same goes for people who go around preaching their beliefs too.

The "religious right" declared war on civilized people and the US Constitution in the 1980's. In 1987, then VP George Bush, Bozo's daddy, publicly stated atheists are not worthy of US citizenship.
When bible thumpers take their messages back into their own homes & churches and stop trying to force everyone to live under the Christian Taliban, perhaps you will be more easily tolerated.
But, until the "religious right" stops waging war, you can expect the opposition to continue & increase.
If people wanted to live under 1st Century rules, we would all move to Afghanistan.
