Let’s assume a massive asteroid strikes Earth, exterminating all life and evaporating the planet in the process. Humanity no longer exists, Earth no longer exists, all life as we know it has gone for good.

Religious believers, I assume you will believe that all humans have now ended up in Heaven, Hell, Purgatory or Limbo, and such like. The universe still exists, with billions and billions of stars and planets, it’s only all life on Earth that has been snuffed out.

What do you think God will do next, now that humans have left the universe? Close up the universe as it’s a waste of time and space? Create a new Adam and Eve on another planet in another solar system to get the ball rolling again? Write a new Bible for another species on another planet?

Perhaps God will think “Wow, what a bunch of useless religious idiots I created down there, better change the formula next time around and see if I can do better”

What do you think God will do next?

Some other weak minded species will arise and re-invent him to comfort themselves in the face of a bewildering existence.

He'll probably just sit back, create a PC in heaven and play the Sim City 4 (a video-game where you can control the world).

We -Mankind- over-value our abilities which were initially given to us by God and think that we are capable of answering all the questions.

It seems very un-scientific as computers never would out-perform its creator which is a man.

What would happen if Mankind decided to shut down all computers?!!

What would do they do next?

If you can imagine the outcome, it will be never compared to what the creator of everything.

Well, God would be the one who caused the asteroid to strike in the first place....

But I'd say only he knows what would happen next.

First he would probably congratulate himself on such a great asteroid and then create a new species of supermen and superwomen.

I wish I had an answer.
