For my g/f b'day I asked her if she wanted to go for a pizza.
we got a taxi and went to the airport....
A pal met us there with our bags packed and we got a flight to Rome. Spent the weekend there (no not this weekend this was last year).

when i was staying in a nurses home, i was tucked up in bed ,when i heard an outside commotion. i was on thee 5th floor.
there was a man trying to climb up the wall by holding onto the balconies. the others were directing him,and i soon realised it was my lovestruck man looking for me. we had not seen each other that evening as i had been working. we had a quick chat and i sent him back down as men were not permitted to visit and especially at that time of the night. the next morning at breakfast ,i was wondering why everyone was looking at me, and realised they were discussing my late night visit.
it was stupid really ,as not only could he have been seriously injured ,but we both could have been in a lot of trouble if caught.
what was special was how pleased he looked that he did see me. now many years on (17), i still fondly remember this and many other naughty rendezvous we had, that i would not dare now. the best thing is to feel special ,and has never cost money.
i do like your romantic gesture and think your lady is very fortunate. keep it alive.

Last X-mas by b/f surprised me with a cruise to the Bahamas and a week long stay in the famous Atlantis hotel on paradise Island

Just after we were married it was valentines day and my hubby sent a massive box with a big red bow on it to work,when I opened it a baloon came out with 'I love you on it' and it had a red rose,teddy and some wine and chocolates in it.It was lovely!
Your Rome trip sounds much better though I will have to tell him!

Not on the same level as a romantic trip but my husband bought me a wishing well and put it in the garden as a surprise when I was in work and he had written a poem and put it inside .Come to think of it we wernt married then, still got the well and husband.

My Husband got me a stuffed dog one christams knowing full well i hate dogs and really not over fushed about stuffed toys. But then when i looked closely he had sewn an eternity ring to the dogs paw. It made me cry with joy.....awe

The nicest thing my hubby did was buy me a motorbike , he was buying himself a new bike and I commented on how good it would be to have one each , not expecting him to say ok as they were £8,500 each , we have had them 12 yrs now ,joined a bike club made 200 mates & forever going to Rallies & music events , wonderful man xxx

The nicest surprise for me would have to be my 21 birthday and my boyfriend took me out to this fancy restaraunt and when we left, there was a limo outside and it took us to the top of this big hill in our area and we watched the stars! It was awesome.

I came home from sevilla to find I had a new car. I am now going on a cruise with my children, arranged and paid for by my exhusband!

one of the nicest surprises i got is when i was homesick, as i just moved to scotland, my b/f took me for a long drive and we ended up going back to my hometown (ireland).It was a complete shock.i had no clothes /nothing with me(not even very much money)But i will never forget it.
Natuarally i married him later.This was 19 years ago.

well helives in vegas and i live in colorado and he wast talkin to me when i tried to call so i got pissed but then the next day the door bell rang and geuss who yes the mail man jk it was him and he took me back to vegas w/ him and we had lots of romantic nites and fun nites on the stripe thats propbably the most romantic thing ne guy has done for me.
