Note: The reason why I ask is because want the caffeine without the negative health problems that soda brings.

Tea has less caffeine than coffee and depending on the kind of soda and tea, either a little more than soda or about the same. See the link in the source for the specific caffeine amounts.

Very good choice, the only problem is that tea tends to make teeth yellow. But I think you've made a great choice. That was mine too and it worked out pretty well.
