Trying to equate the story of Adam and Eve with the science of evolution is impossible.
No one is around who saw Adam and Eve, if they actually existed. So all depictions of them are from someone's imagination.
Some human ancestors were quite hairy. As we evolved, not as much.
Look around today - some people are hairier than others.

Unfortunately there are no paintings from Adam and Eve left from the days they lived. Neither were there photocamara's, or they just didn't stay well enough preserved that long for us to still enjoy them in our days. All pictures and paintings we have from them today are all from much later date. So actually they might as well have been hairy all over their body.
You could also take a look overhere if you want to know more about the scientific view on the history of humans and Adam and Eve.

Because man did not come from hairy apes. God made Adam and Eve, as well as the rest of the universe and everything in it.

Ah, who is to say they weren't the first humans or precursors of what humans would eventually evolve into? Mankind has been around for millions of years, a scientific, verifiable fact. Now given that, what if Adam and Eve were themselves one of these earliest human beings and we evolved from them?
Creationism meets Evolution and all perfectly possible.

There are some who would tell you that Adam and Eve were in fact apes, but ones that had started to evolve so they could walk on their hindlegs and have meaningful interaction, using basic tools.

Perhaps it is just a primitive story of creation that should not be taken literally?
But if it amuses you to think of these Biblical characters being hairy and walking on all fours, go for it.

How do you know that they weren't on all fours and all hairy, nowhere does it state in the bible that they walked on two legs, and nowhere does it state that they walked on all fours, in fact it did not even state that they walked anywhere, all that was said was that they were not to eat the forbidden fruit. So you draw your own conclusion
