I have been doing a bit of research and it seems that scientologists belive in a lot of really out there things. Like for instance they belive in an alien named Xemu. How could they possibly belive this? Isn't it really just a joke?

I never once said christianity or any other religion was better. I am merely asking a question and would like intelligent responses only. I do follow my own beliefs. I was just shocked upon finding out what scientologist believe. i actually would love for a scientologist to get on here and answer my question. Because I can't help but think that it can't be real

Here is an excerpt about part of their beliefs it's from holysmoke.com

After he had captured all these souls he had them packed into boxes and taken to a few huge cinemas. There all the souls had to spend days watching special 3D motion pictures that told them what life should be like and many confusing things. In this film they were shown false pictures and told they were God, The Devil and Christ. In the story this process is called "implanting".

Yup.

Scientology is just one big, multi-levelled scam.

At the lower levels, you're made to part with thousands of dollars for silly self-help books, while being brainwashed to believe that Dianetics are the cure for all your ills and that Scientologists are your only friends.

At higher levels, they start telling you how to aggravate people who don't agree with Scientology and then they start teaching you the alien bullcrap. By that point, you have wasted a quarter of a million dollars on Scientology "services".

These people are criminals and should be dealth with accordingly.

Personally, if a Scientologist ever sets foot on my property, he'll be leaving in a bodybag.

It is apparently one of their beliefs. I think it is amazing how all the aliens have the first name X, and I think all religions referring to then should be called xistentialism. Of course this may cause some confusion with the Xtians.

Dear Nichole,

Xemu here. What is this? Trying to disgrace me in public by suggesting that I am merely an imaginary alien. Let me tell you, I am very real! And I could sue you for defamation! Watch your step!

With much affection,
Xemu

Scientology seems to be only for the very wealthy, very superficial, and for those with extremely low IQ's. I know, it does sound like a bad joke, but there are some very gullible people out there.

Everyone has their own beliefs...they are neither right or wrong, just beliefs. You can ask the same thing about any religion as there are weird things in all of them. Just follow your own beliefs and don't worry about everyone...concentrate on yourself.

Understand that the founder of Scientology wrote science fiction. Need I say more?

How is it any more or less a joke than any other religion on earth?
After all, EVERY religion relies on the gullibility and faith of it's followers to survive. Oh and the ability to fleece these followers of thier hard-earned cash of course. Can't forget that fact. It is why religion exists after all...

Well, the whole Scientology thing was started by a science-fiction writer.

If aliens exist, why wouldn't they have names?

If aliens speak, why couldn't some of them be named Xenu.

You could have found a much better example to prove your point.
