Can the songs downloaded be corrected not to skip? Or do I have to start over? I read somewhere where you could scan disc and so forth but I don't know. I had just downloaded Limewire and used it for the first time since last year. I have never had that problem before when I went back to play my music. The downloads that are skipping are the new ones just added....

I had the same bad experience as yours downloading music files from limewire. Next thing I knew my computer started to work erratically to the point that I thought It's going to crash. I'm still lucky it didn't. I immediately deleted ALL downloaded files I have and even deleted the LIMEWIRE software itself. I thought these music files are not worth crashing my computer anyway.I scanned my computer using my antivirus software twice that day and regularly every three days. But the antivirus never detected any infected file. But still, my computer started to work normally as before. I never had problems with my PC until I used Limewire. I'm not blaming the site and software itself for all the trouble I had, maybe it was due to a "bad file" which I have downloaded and poor file sharing... who knows.

It is more than likely a corrupted file. I download a lot of music with Limewire and now and then I get a bad file. Sorry, I don't know how to fix the bad files.

To be honest a two year old computer, is pretty old, technology is always growing. But i don't think that's your problem, you may need another program to work with the limewire!!!

Limewire is sooooo infected with viruses. Chances are one came with the software. WinMX or KAZAA are much better.

As for the songs skipping...I would venture a guess that you are not connected propertly, the software has a glich or it is a virus. Try uninstall and re-install (if you choose to use the same program).

You might have gotten a bad download, try downloading a different file. I personally don't like LimeWire...maybe try eMule.
