CAREFULLY!!!

Lol~
I agree with going to a groomer but if you positively absolutely must do it yourself, I have seen these weird cage-like contraptions that you can use so that it "protects" the cat and you can still get your hands in there to lather and rinse.

If you are going to do it yourself, try to calm the cats down by talking to them and petting them gently. I have washed my cats a few times and the calmer I am, the more calm they are.

Good Luck!

Depends on the cat. If you start them early enough in life sometimes they can become accustomed to water and will enjoy a bath. Sometimes, not so much. I had one a few years back that actually enjoyed being washed. The only catch was I had to have the bath water ready BEFORE bringing her to it. If I attempted to hold her as the water was running she'd get fussy. Now my other cats (including the one I have now) forget it. Those ones all had to go to the groomer. You may also try pet wipes. You can get them at WalMart. They're quick, easy and most especially FAST!

Why do they need a bath? The best time to give a cat a bath is to start when they are kittens. If you start when they are adults you can get scratched really bad. A good brushing can be much better for a cat than a bath. Good luck.

If you're not gonna shell out a few bucks for a groomer to get shreaded,...

Have a little fun -
put them in a cage, like an old fashioned carrier one for each. Place both carriers nearby each other or at a distance like a few feet.
Make sure you only do this on a hot sunny day.

Next go hide in the bushes or behind some lawn furniture or behind your car.
Use a hose and start sparying them with water, preferably with warm water, though it will start to cool when its sparyed into the air. When they're soaked,... let the water drip off for a few minutes then hose'em down again (rinse cycle).

Give them a few minutes of meowing (complaining) to drip dry a little (depending upon their mood at the time).

Come out of hiding and you can either risk getting scratched and reach in with a big towel to pat dry them (get most of the water off of them). Or just let them out and they will find a nice warm sunny spot to dry them selves with.

Of course just act like you just happened to find them soaked, cats are pretty smart, they might think it was you that hosed them down. Coz it WAS you, you're guilty.

Anyway, I hope I helped.

good luck.

If you didn't start them off as kittens, and you know they really don't like water - take them to a professional. I bath my cats about every 6 mos, and have done so since they were itty bitties, so they know it isn't going to kill them, and they tolerate it - as long as I have a death grip hold on them. They growl and hiss at me the entire time - but they know better than to scratch or bite.

How about a dry shampoo. Its far less stressful for catss. Vets sell these and they work very well. Giving your cat a 'Wet' bath can strip its coat of natural oils which really isnt good for them.

Do not give the cats a bath. You will get scratched, bit and who knows what else.
Leave it up to the groomers.

let someone else do it. No, seriously, why would you want to give them a bath? Cats usually keep themselves clean well enough.

why not just use cat wipes (like large baby wipes) instead of a full blown bath. then brush them down. they'll like you much better if you do this instead of sticking them in a big tub of water
