so far I've skipped two meals (not because I'm anorexic or anything), and I'm worried it might decrease my metabolism. How long does it take to bring it down or up?

Skipping meals will slow your metabolism down immediately. Eating 5-6 fist size healthy meals and snacks plus at least 20 minutes of cardio everyother day will speed it up.

It can affect your metabolism right away, and it takes MUCH longer to fix it than to screw it up!

If you don't have time for a full meal, try to at least have a [healthy] snack. Ideally, you shoudl eat six small meals a day, but not many people actually do all that!

Foods don't change your metab. The only thing that changes it is: lack of activity, getting older. Now when you get active, even start to walk daily your metab will speed up and you'll burn calories faster than you did. Every time you walk across the room you're burning calories, become more active and move more, you will burn more calories and your metabolism will speed up. When you walk or exercise on a consistent basis it really speeds up and stays there even while at rest.
As you get older it will slow down if you aren't active, this is why people get chubbier as they age, they sit more, slow down, and stop moving.

skipping meals tells utr matablism that ur starving so any calories u take in are gonna burn really slowly ... NEVER skip. just eat really little ones every 2 hours or somthing , that will keep ur body going fast and u are bound to loose weight.
