...its been about 8 months and you finally exchange numbers (only to keep in touch via text)
you text each other all day (about rubbish) and then the girl says
"there's no point wasting my time texting you when i will see you online later"
Would you get offended and how would you reply to this?

Btw, you are not strangers, you are a friend of a friend, and you live in different cities

that's kind of direct baby girl, since he doesn't hear your tone of voice. i would take it as " back off, i'm busy right now". i would reply to you. "take all the time you need, i got to go" see, if you don't hear my tone of voice you would take it as " see yah" so, there is some explaining to do.

I'd like to think I was mature enough to get by for ten seconds without a text and wait until our next meeting online.
Personally I don't do texts, I don't even have a mobile phone, but when nobody emails me for several days or more than a week I get a little aggitated I must admit.

Really it all depends on the guy and their attitude. some guys would take it as she is mad at them or some form of anger and the guy will take offense to it and then get pissed off at the girl. rightfully there is no right way to a situation like that all i can say is i would wait until i got online and ask her if she was pissed off or upset at me at the moment of the text. she could've been pissed off about something else and just didnt want to talk at the moment. you'll never know until you ask.

Why would you text by phone if your going to be doing it online? I'm pretty sure when I use my phone, I "talk" to other people. I wouldn't be offended at all. That's just common sense

Texting is more expensive than online.
I'd reply. There is nothing wrong with it.

I would agree because chating online is a hell of a lot cheaper than texting.
