Sounds like the dog may be suffering. I would do the humane thing and put the dog to sleep. I love animals and feed all the strays I find so don't get me wrong when I say put the dog to sleep at the vet...

Call a vet and ask them. Cause i have no idea. Is the dog in pain? I hope not. But call a vet a find out.

sounds like an exploded tumor. I once had a very very old cat and when he died-he had got tumors that bursted open and left open sores.
