they were not disarmed and the israelis didn't achieve what they wanted, instead they just proved that they are cold blooded murderers.

I support peace and freedom with all my heart, and peace between all religions and all nations.
And I am not saying this as a Muslim or as an Arab, I am saying this as my understanding and my own point of view.
Yes, Hezbollah did kidnap 2 soldiers and they asked for a prisoner exchange, the prisoners for the soldiers, but how did Israel respond back?
They didn't they just turned the place into a war zone and they fired "FIRST" into Lebanon and that is a fact!
And secondly, what would you do as a "Human Being" if your loved ones were held captive prisoners of war in another country and there is a less then 10% chance of seeing them alive, would you not try your best to get them back?
What did Hezbollah ask for then ? Did they ask for land? Did they ask for money ? Or did they simply ask for an exchange of prisoners because it was simply a last resort for a "Peaceful" exchange. They could have killed the prisoners but they didn't, they could have entered villages and turned them upside down first but they didn't.
No matter what I still strongly believe that the war was not justified, not matter what killing is still killing!
We should not look at this from a prejudice point of view, and that is what I strongly believe in.

Victory is a relative state.
From goal acheivement prospective
-Isreal backed up with US objective was to destroy Hezbollah and get back the two soldiers
-Hezbollah objective was using these two soldiers to free hundreds of prisoners of war of Lebanon being held in Isreal
Both did not achieve goals and thus there was no victroy in both sides.
From field militray operation
-Isreal (Powerful organized army) lost 100 of soliders, war equipment which is a record. It exceeded which US loss in Iraq within the same time interval (a month)
-Hezbollah (a group believe they have the right to free their own people) losses were very few and standed for 30 days against air, marine, a sea modern weapons from the best US arena.
This is a victory.
Lebanon innocent people (civilians) 1000s were killed for no reason. 100s of Homes were destroyed for no reason. They lost but they (Muslims and Christians) were happy for standing against Isreal.
Be aware that Isreal was imposed as a state in an area populated by Arab since 1948 and it is not welcome and thus Isreal fighting an Arab ruined Isreal image among its neigbours and this is another Isreal loss.
To imagine the situation. Suppose that you were imposed to share your home with me and you can not move me out. Would you accept that?
This is typically the situation as precieved by Arab of 300million (Muslims and Christians)

You must remember that insanity runs ramp id with Hezbollah and those that support them, what is sad here is the rest of the Arab world won't confront them for fear of retaliation, I fear now for Lebanon because it will be Hezbollah that will control that country now and will grow stronger, Hezbollah will interpret how Lebanon will be governed to and not by it's present government the U.S. or France or any other peace keeping country, Iran and Syria will see to that, yes they did win but it was not the war, what they won was control of Lebanon and you can bet that country will never be the same again.

Hezbollah won, because they didn't let Israel to achieve any of their goals and the number of soldiers killed on the Israeli side was much more then Hezbollah.Israel wanted to destroy Hezbollah in the first two days, but they couldn't ,that's why they started killing children, that was how they showed their power in this war and called it self defense.Hezbollah still has those Israeli soldiers to trade with their ppl in Israeli jails.

Because now that there is a cease-fire, the Israel's demand for the return of the two soldiers which Hezbollah captured need not be met and so they are considered the winner of this incident.

I think because this is the toughest fight that any group of Arabs gave Israel.
I wonder why Israel thinks it won. Hezbollah is still there.
I think each side wants to claim victory to save face.

Who cares? If the ceasefire and multinational forces create a lasting peace, everyone wins! Let Hebollah save face as long as they refrain from any more attacks.

They claim victory because they are dead enders and they are guided by the fact "Atleast I got to hit you with my rockets, you could not stop me, I don't care what happens to my people and cities".
They are sure they can rebuild all the damage with Iran's oil money nad they get the clientale of the whole population. They get to win the next election and they get to control another country and make another country Islamic and get to rule it Taliban style with Sharia laws.
Isn't there enough reasons to rejoice.
