Well if you mixed it like you typed this question it would not surprise me if it solidified.

No...but it sounds like the milk was soured and clotted.

One possibility is that the cold from the ice cream caused the milkshake to solidify (and more milk would be needed). If not, and the milk became solid BEFORE blending, then the reason could be explained below:

Many people think that milk is a liquid. It's actually more of a SOLID (in liquid form). When it hits our stomach acid, it curdles into proteins and fat solids (and the water separates out.)

Chances are the acidity of the blueberries might have started the "Clotting" of the milk. (If you want to see, place a little milk or cream into a cup and then add lemon juice. (There are tricks to combine acidic foods with dairies.)

Regarding the Vanilla... Was it Vanilla BEAN or Pure Extract? (Extracts usually contain alcohol that can react to dairy if too much is present).

Food is fun and weird at the same time. Consider it a life lesson and you can learn techniques on how to combine foods at such places like http://www.foodnetwork.com or the like.

Good Luck and Have Fun!

Actually the force you used to blend the drink caused to milk to solidify. Tthe vanilla just gave it flavor.

do you mean vanilla ice cream? because vanilla and milk just makes "vanilla milk". i have had milkshakes "solidify" as you say, but it was more like an extra thick shake.
