Everytime I try, he wants to make it work. I am also a single mother and I just want to get on with my life. We have been together 5 years and I don't see marriage in our future. Plus he is very jealous ( I did go back with my ex but that was 4 years ago) and I can't go anywhere by myself or do many of the things I used to enjoy. I have expressed this to him and he wants to work thru it. Even I did at one time, I wanted to win his trust and love back-But it is not working, we have sex every four months, I don't even have a key to his house or the alarm code and I feel like less than a person. Yes I messed the relationship up, but it's time to give up. I love him dearly but I want my life back.

Actually I don't nag or make waves at all. It's like I have no voice-I just let him do what he wants and I go along with it to keep the peace or make him happy.

You answered your question for yourself. Tell him that you need time to get back to yourself. You feel lost and it's nothing he can help you with. Move on! You can do it.

It sounds like there are some real trust and intimacy issues in your relationship. He wants to be with you, but he can't seem to loosen up and trust you -- yeah, I can see how that would get old. If you've really tried to patch things up and it hasn't worked, it's probably time to move on.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there's a way of doing it without drama. You're going to have to tell him very clearly that you want it to be over, then you're going to have to cut him loose from your life. Probably, he's not going to take it very well and is going to try to "save" the relationship. But, if you want to end it, my only advice is to be firm and stick to your guns.

i'm not going suggesting you TO break up with him or anything like that dear...you been with this guy for long time...so why waste it??
maybe theres other way of improving it...did you ever talk to him seriously how you felt???
if his willing to make some changes why not??? give it another shot....GIVE HIM SOME ULTIMATUM.....
if this person really LOVES YOU....trust me it wont be hard to talk to him. BUT MAKE SURE THAT YOU WORK THING OUT WITH HIM TOO....just remember theres reason why guy acting this wait...MAYBE LATELY YOU BEEN NAGGING HIM REGARDING SOME ISSUE BUT YOU JUST DONT KNOW THAT YOU DOING IT....guys are guys they dont wanna have a second MOTHER...THEY DONT WANNA BE GET JUDGE BY US.

You're going to have to be tough about it. Drama or not, if it's not working then get out otherwise another 5 years will go by and you'll still be talking about getting out. Just tell him you seem to want and need different things!

I had a b/f like that I had to cheat on him to get rid of him. But I knew there was nothing else I could of done. It was rude but I did it. Good Luck!
