I love God. I do, he's done so much for me and everyone else. And He always will. But is it wrong to get saved from your fear of hell? and continue your faith like that? For some reason I don't have the desire i wish i did.

You are God's child and will live with him in heaven if you believe God sent his Son to take away your sins.

We should all know without a doubt when we are saved and at that moment and from then on we can live our life never having to fear going to hell again. As you grow in the faith, your desire to be more active will change also. Just continue believing and being thankful that you no longer fear hell because of what Jesus has done for you and God will somehow work using that to help make your desire to be more active come alive in you.

MIKE

PS. I'll say a prayer for you, too

Not sure I fully understand your question. If you are a good person, repentant for any little sins you may commit because you are simply human and make mistakes from time to time, and strong and consistent in your faith, you have nothing to fear about hell, because you won't go there. It is natural to fear the unknown, and there may be a little doubt in one's mind whether or not there is an afterlife, whether heaven and hell actually exist and where you're ultimately headed, but if your faith and belief in salvation is strong enough that you do not fear death or damnation and are certain of where you're going, there's no harm in it. I don't think you need to fear hell in order to go to heaven; I certainly don't believe that fear is a necessary or desirable relation with the eternal. By understanding your relation to your conception of God and your relation with Him, you can be strong and confident in your ultimate destination.

If you fear hell the way you say, than you are saying that God has no power to save. That's a sin. God is a loving Father. He wants your love (Hosea 6:6). Hell is not at this time. Hell will be in the future, after the 1000 years. We will be in the spirit at that time. The word hell in the bible, except for 4 times in the book of Rev, is referred to as the grave, the garbage pit outside Jerusalem, or, feeling sorry for your self. That is the torture of hell, feeling sorry for your self. God is a loving Father, he is not going to put his children in a some burning pit to be torture for ever. God will destroy them, as if they never existed. Gone for good. There is no torture in the real Hell. Fear or revere God and you'll be ok. Love God.
Think about it.

Getting saved from your fear of hell? There is no reason to be afraid of 'HELL' all it is is the grave. When you die...you die. Look up Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all....." and Ezekiel 18:4 and 20 tells us that, "the soul that is sinning it itself will die." There is n o pain or pleasure when you are dead. You are just dead. but there will be a ressurection of the righteous and the unrighteous. You really need to know what the scriptures say. And not depend on anyone TELLING you what they say, so I suggest you look these up for yourself and if you would like to know more contact me and whatevr it is I will show you from the scriptures.

Hi deathkorp,

Faith is based on more than feelings. There may be days when we don't feel like God. We don't feel like reading our bibles, praying, going to church, etc. and we have to learn how to take actions that desire God- if our desire is to desire God. It's like saying i want to be a great basketball player- but i don't feel like practicing-- so i'll wait till i have a desire to practice. You have to endure through sometimes. It definitely helps to have friends along with you though to hope...

In terms of getting saved just out of fear of hell, i want to tell you about the worst part of hell. It isn't the eternal punishment- but it's the fact that it's an eternity away from God.

And so if you think about hell like that--- if you want to spend an eternity with God- why not begin by spending today, tomorrow, day-by-day with God.

So not out of fear of punishment but out of love from God. God knows that sometimes our hearts are not right- like we may read our Bible or pray out of duty or obligation-- and that's ok for a short season but knowing- we need to take action to correct. Don't worry about the desire- begin doing things that a person who desires God will do- and God will begin to honor and bless your diligent striving after Him.

Hope that helps,

Nickster =)

i think fear is the worst thing that we can do. We should have love in our heart for everybody, and than you will not be afraid of anything. God is always there for you, and He wants you to be saved, and He will do everything to save you because you are his chid, the only condition is that you should have the pure desire to rise higher, to reach Him, to connect to Him.
If you do something wrong don't feel guilty because you don't resolve anything. Just correct the thing that you have done wrong, and don't do it again.

If you are following God because you fear his wrath, then I suggest that you study on the Love god has towards you.

God's love is what you need to think about. God's love is what should be leading you to repentance.

Romans 2:4 (NKJV)
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

Do you deserve forgiveness? No. No one does.

Are you his child? That is for you to figure out.

If you are his child, then you are his chosen. He has no wrath for you. Jesus took all of it upon the cross. You are totally forgiven for everything. Past, present and future sins are blotted out.

Go in peace.

Let go of the fear, god will still be there. Faith is not a burden but a simple belief. Give yourself this gift.

You haven't mentioned Jesus. You love God, that is good. But is Jesus your savior? When you come to know about Jesus, that you can trust God's word as true (the bible), you will have no fear of hell, because you know you won't go there.

I used to be a christian purely out of fear. Not sure if there's anything wrong with it, but I finally go to the point that I realized was just scared into Christianity.
