Very easily. This could be accomblished in one of three ways. First would be a strike with tomahawk missiles. Comparitivly cheap, they can fly below radar and destroy the target.

Second would be a strike with stealth aircraft. While Iran does have a modest air-defence capabiilty it was designed to deal against the older aircraft used by the Iraqis.

Third would be an open air attack using standard aircraft. F-18's or F-16 flying out of Saudi Arabia. The first Gulf War more than proved that American fighter and attack aircraft is capible of dealing with any air threat the Iranian airforce has to offer. As far as missile sites are concerened, any overt airstrike would be accompanied by "Wild Weasel" aircraft armed with HARM missiles. The moment the sites went active they would be targeted and destroyed.

No.

The only way USA can defeat Iran in a permanent way is to have a ground invasion. And for such an invasion to be successful, USA will need to re-instate the draft and create an army of a few million well-trained soldiers.

That's what it took to defeat Japan and Nazi Germany during World War II. And Iran is a country about the same size as Germany is.

US experience in Iraq has shown that you can't control a large country with a small army of soldiers.

Well considering I don't even know any waterways into Iran that would me a complete aerial tactic. To me that wouldn't work considering Iran must have anti-plane missles in there somewhere.

Personally I don't think any combat war with Iran can be won. The only way we can defeat them eventually is if they violate international atomic energy laws to a high degree and the UN Security Counsel imposes heavy sanctions or if we wipeout all of their allies then maybe we could do something but then again all of their resources would be saturated within their own state.

Until then I think we can only wait and try to take out Iran's weaker allies. Then once we have their support we can gather the information and decide what to do with Iran. But as for now there's not much we can do in my POV.

Yes, it can be done, but I think that there will be a need to go in with some ground troops. Unless, the U.S. drop an atomic bomb on Tehran, which may be the only real solution, considering diplomatic attemps with Iran is an exercise in futility. All it keeps doing is pushing and delaying UN deadlines, and trying to deflect attention on the building of nuclear weapon. We better wake up before it is too late! Iran must be taken out. Take Iran out, and you cut the head of Islamofascism.

It would have to be an air war anyway. Logistically it is close to impossible. Iran is not all desert but has also has a landscape similar to Afghanistan. Mountainous and all but impassible.

I'm just hoping we don't go in. Too ugly to win. We'd assert air superiority very quickly, but on the ground we screwed. There is a lot of resistance to the government, but they would make it a US vs. Islam war and religious fervor would take over, meaning lots of civilians not defending their country, but their religion. An ugly situation at best.

No, because if we attack Iran, the muslim world would unite and you know we dont want that to happen and if they unite, Russia and China would be on their side. The muslim countries arrent weak, its just that they dont have nukes. Not having nukes is what keeps them back but there is one muslim country that does have nuke-Pakistan-That country will be a problem. And that is why the U.S. does not attack Iran.

Without question. A combination of precision air strikes, cruise missles, drone attacks and laser guided bombs could eliminate Irans facilities with ease.

Sure, three ballistic nuclear missiles would turn the whole nation into a sparkly sea of glass. A ground invasion would probably kill less civilians, however.

well with all the taxes Americans pay and the size of our defense budget I`d say the reason so far any country has`nt taken us on in a full scale war is evident, especially with the nutter we have at the helm.

only by using banned weapons ... pressure bombs, nukes, chemical ... etc because conventional weapons in my humble opinion can not reach deep enough into the deep man made caves, Iran is full of mountains.
