I mean this god character has to be one of the most evil characters in the whole of fiction. Here is an omnipotent creature that killed thousands of innocent animals in a flood to get back at the people who didn't do what he said, who he gave the ability not to do what he says to in the first place. This is a god who says that anyone who suggests that he isn't the real god should be killed very benevolent of you god isn't it considering you gave them the ability to do that knowing full well that they would use that free will against you. This is a god that decided instead of just making the pharaoh let his people go free though he would kill all the innocent 1st born boys in Egypt very benevolent of him isn't it. And they are just 3 examples if you look there will be more and yet they still insist that god is all loving. How stupid can you get?
Obviously god isn’t real.

The concept of god is hard to wrap my mind around as well. And if I was to put myself in the situation of being swallowed up by a flood or having my first born son killed- yes some bad things have happened. But those events are now being taught as lessons, lessons that will teach people how to live better.
God works on a bigger level than we can understand. I like to think that God has a plan for all of us, some of those plans may include someone suffering for the greater good...

Tom,
"How can you say god is benevolent?"
He is for those that are His. Haven't you ever read the Gospels?

There is a pattern there. Those that are His, He has many blessing for. Those that are not His, are cursed.

God has a pattern of giving more of what you have to you. If you approach Him with anger and disbelief, He will give you more of the same. If you wonder about Him and approach Him with desire, you get more desire because He makes Himself known. But you will never come to Him unless He wants you. If He doesn't want you, get on with the life you have left. Stop worrying about it. He doesn't want you.

when you're talking previous testomony God, then definite he grow to be very vengeful. The christian custom says that meek Jesus grow to be benevolent. Coincidentally Jesus presented the concept of Hell fireplace. i imagine once you attempt to save human beings in line, you ought to create some discipline. actually seem at maximum religions and also you may want to work out the same.

You need to understand the nature of God. You definitely need to learn how God has evolved and changed his mind about how he deals with us. He has given us chance after chance to be what he wants us to be and when we can't seem to live up to that standard, then the standard gets changed to something easier. The times you are referring to (ancient Egypt) was way before Christ dies for our sins. Your rantings don't make much sense to people that have studied the Bible and/or have come to know God in a personal way. God has made covenants with us in the old testement that he still keeps with us today. If you learn to relax in the Lord, things will go your way and you will BENEFIT greatly.

I am Pagan and find your question very rude. Just because you don't believe in the ideal of God doesnt mean you have to try to bring others to your views. Let everyone believe how they want without you chastising them for their beliefs.

Don't forget, God also gave us the ability to obey Him. And when one considers the nature of Him to whom we owe our obedience, and our very existence, His punishments don't seem so severe. Besides, who are you to judge Him? When the time comes you will see the truth, to your anguish.

God loves his children so much that he makes us go through horrible situations to get us to understand why we have to be obedient.
