It seems all they do is complain and whine constantly. I mean they even go back 100's of
years in history to make their claims of "Victimhood". Right now there's a 19 year old
kid in New York crying over his version of the crusades.

WHERE are the postives???
WHERE are the UNIVERSITIES?
WHERE are the HOSPITALS?
WHERE are the CHILDREN BEING FED???
WHERE are the Athiest Food BANKS????
WHERE are the Billions of Dollars helping the world's starving??????????

Please explain this strange belief

I never heard it put that way, but you are right.

If they decide to go against God, and that's what they're doing, they should not complain if they are in a minority. But instead they hire lawyers and mess up everything.

I think you are a bit confused about just WHAT Atheism is. You are pointing to bricks and morter structures and charities that are, traditionally, in the realm of RELIGION. Atheism is NOT a religion, so why would Athiests want to start universities and hospitals or pour Billions of dollars into that deep hole called "helping the world's starving".

It's like blaming the local society for the advancement of sea urchins because they don't build marine sancturaries.

Atheism means WITHOUT A BELIEF IN GOD... i.e.... without religion. There is no way to equate Atheism with religion, so what's your point in the posting?

I can't explain a non-belief. Or a belief in no belief, I should say. I think that the answer to you question is that since atheism is not "organized" as are most religious beliefs, that the positives are not to be found in the tenets of that point of view, but in the secular actions of each individual who just also happens to be an atheist. Is that too vague?

What I mean is that--atheism is NOT a belief, but rather a non-belief, not organized, not collecting money, not tax exempt, not classified in any way. It is just one factor making up the whole of each of its adherents, like the color of their hair, for instance.

Apples and oranges to expect the same from a non-belief as a strongly held belief.

Atheism is an umbrella time period which covers a remarkable decision. The more effective vocal atheists frequently have a position that someone might want to argue adversarial to. inspite of the undeniable fact that many - possibly maximum - atheists merely lack a perception. maximum of them by no skill argue. in case you ask them what they have self assurance, they each now and then ask what the words 'atheist' and 'agnostic' recommend, they do no longer already recognize because it isn't major to them. There are those who might want to target to argue with them - yet they gained't get very some distance! Many theists and some atheists merely won't be able to manage this. they couldn't settle for that any you may nevertheless be so completely detached to their thoughts. This strikes me as very illogical. If I say:- === "i do no longer have self assurance in the Loch Ness Monster. i won't be able to say truthfully that it does no longer exist, inspite of the undeniable fact that i imagine it not likely" Then which will be standard. it truly is obtrusive that my perception is different from someone who says that the monster truthfully does no longer exist - inspite of the undeniable fact that the style is moderate. i imagine that some those who're particular about God latest or no longer latest merely won't be able to imagine the options set of someone who isn't particular. they have a position they're connected to. they could understand someone who has a diverse position, yet no longer one which lacks a position.

Atheism is a personal choice not to believe... just as those who do believe, have the same personal choice!!

As for a 'Giant Whine'!!

That happens on all sides, all over the world: be them Atheist: Christian: Agnostic: Muslim: Jew: or any other I have failed to mention!!

‘Whining’ about something or other: has always since the dawn of time, been a human pastime... along with gossip & rumour!!

Here in the UK it would seem that we are not happy unless whining about something… it’s too hot … it’s too cold … it’s too wet… Mr Blair… Mr Bush … Work… Tax… Transport… Education… Crime… Binge Drinking… Yobs on the street… You name it: we will find a reason to moan about it!!

I don't believe an atheist can do any of those things, because frankly I don't think they care. Christians do those things, as well as Buddhists, and other religions because they believe they are either 1) Doing it for God 2) racking up points for the afterlife 3) or it makes them a better person to reach enlightenment. These things drive religious organizations to better themselves, not just mentally but spiritually. Atheists care about the here and the now, because it is their belief that that is the only thing that truly exists. After all, once global warming hits, we will all be nothing anyways right?

I don't see how Atheists whine. I'm an atheist--give me an example?

The reason we don't have food banks and all the other stuff you mentioned is because the Christian organizations that help with that can unite under one cause--to serve God's will. If atheists joined together, it would be under the cause of spiting every other religion. I doubt anyone would go to an Atheist food bank if we "whined" all the time.

Wow, well I appologize for not being Christian so that I can do all the things the church does for people.

I believe in what I believe because it's personal. I'm not going to go to church and believe a story that's been passed down for thousands of years. It's not going to happen.

So when I get the money, and you know, the atheists band together, we'll definatly concider making universities and hospitals, and then we'll take over the world.

Atheism isn't a religion. We don't go to church and worship....nothing! We're not a band of individuals - we're individuals. The only common thread between us is not believing in god. We don't huddle together for comfort.

There probably are athiest-sponsored all of those things. However, the people donating the money for them are not doing so in the name of atheism. So you'd never know it.

Figure it out for yourself, kiddo. Oh wait, you can't, can you? That would be dangerous for you, to start thinking.

Tell you what, just turn the other cheek. If you bury your head in the sand, we might go away.....

Atheists by their nature are individuals. Some are doing nice things for the world and others aren't.

There isn't a Universal Church of Atheism, whiny boy. Unless you count the humanists and last time I looked, most of them are a fairly moral and upright bunch of citizens. I suspect a lot of them are doing nice things for the world. Quietly.

Lots of people whine, but I don't see atheists doing so more than others. What do universities and charities have to do with belief in God?
