My computer just one day seemed to stop loading Cd's. I can't play games or install things from a Cd. It loads a flash drive and everything else seems to work fine. Even the disc drive comes out, but once you put a Cd in it will sound like its loading something then it will stop making sounds and nothing at all will pop up on the screen. The computer is a emachines Xp. Please help.

Do you have Auto-Play turned off? Go to My Computer then right click your CD drive then click Propreties then Click the auto-play tab and adjust your settings.

Well, it seems like a setting changed in your Explorer. You can still access the drive from My Computer in the Start Menu. The CD drive is usually drive D or E. If that does not work, try Device Manager under the control panel to see if the device needs to be reinstalled. You can tell if it has a Red X or a Yellow Exclamation Point.
