Maybe he just meant that he loves you for who you are. Saying that doesn't mean he's actually "in love" with you. If you care about him as more than a friend, talk to him about it and see how he really feels.

Well this is sort of a sticky situation, because there are two ways to look at this. For one, what he has for you is a love for your personality, who you are, (taking into thought he has not had any pictures or anything). This is a genuine thing, because he only has a mental image, which he knows is not a possiblity for you to look that way. As well, there may be a chance that you may be reading too deep into what he said, maybe he has love for you as a friend it is a possibility, fraternos love. The way he said he loved you (because of who you are to him) is very vague, he did not clarify who you are to him. I would advise you to keep your relationship with hm strictly platonic, just because you haven't seen him and you may not know him as well as you think, i am not saying anything about him, but somethings you learn about a person just by being around them.

be very careful.... A friend of mine dated a guy - "on-line" for 2 years. They met twice and got married.
Neither were as they described themselves on line. Turns out they had nothing in common. Nothing.
Divorced in 8 months.
How do you know if he is telling you the truth or not?
I am not sure how old you are, but are you sure he isn't a sexual preditor using the internet?
Be careful. Please. There are a lot of weirdo's out there.
Find someone that you can actually look in the eye and verify that they are telling you the truth about things.

I don't know about meeting people on the internet unless you met them in real life, and telling someone you love them is something you do in person first, before you say it on line or over a phone.
I would just take as a playful kind of " I love you" not a serious kind of love, possibly platonic, good luck.

umm, if u've never met him in person then how do u know he says who he says he is? anyone can pretend to be anyone online. that being said, just be careful because the least of ur problems could be that he's playing around with ur feelings, the worst of ur problems could be that u meet him and he ends up being some kind of deranged killer. just drop the loser and get a date in the real world.

It might be a problem if he's in love w/ someone else. Although if u really like him then I would say just go for it maybe he'll see u for the great person you are. If not then there are more fish in the sea!

Why worry about it if your just friends. Saying I love you to a friend is okay. Unless you wanted more out of the online relationship.

um..ok, i don't mean to be a downer but uh, he's never even met you in person. so yeah...and online dating can be cool and fun but if you've never even spoken to this guy..it's like this; you can communicate on line but no matter how many smiles and other little faces you use, it's not even close to the real thing

Well, how do you feel? Who does he have the most feelings for? You should ask him and if he says you, take a chance, you only live once. I wish you the best of luck!

With a grain of salt.
This is an online relationship - it's easy to play pretend. Anyone can type "I love you"
