he was a very pretty dog that got thrown out of a car about 10 years ago. I was working with save a pet at the time, and was able to coaxe the poor frightened puppy to me, then the town put him in their pound, after I reported the incident, the next day I went and took him out, got him nuetered and all his shots, found a great home for him but he would not eat or do anything so I had to go get him again. When he saw me his tail wagged and when I got him home, you could actually see how happy he was, he never actually got a name other than White Dog. I just miss him and wanted to put that some where...thanks for listening

You gave White dog all that a dog could ask for, and I am sure he repaid you many times over..he was so lucky to have found his forever home with you...Now, he has another forever home...yes, dogs DO go to heaven..I have proof...
I am so sorry for your loss...Just keep all of the good memories, and he will be buried safely in your heart.

I'm sorry for your loss. Non-pet people won't understand what great company a dog or cat can be or how much a person can miss this "friend" when they are gone. No matter how many people live in your house, it will seem empty.
My wife and I got a cat from the Humane society. It was a very forward friendly cat but he was in the "sick" section of the building. We saved his life as he ended up requiring a lot of expensive medicine. But he was worth it. He is the best cat either of us have ever had.
We just spent two miserable days as the cat got outside (he's an indoor cat). We had to wait for him to return or for someone to find him. It was hell! Fortunately we got him back after those two days.
Mourn your dog. Then when you are ready, go get another pet. Hopefully you will find a new good companion. You'll never forget White Dog but you'll come to love and enjoy your new friend.

I'm so sorry you lost such a good friend, but as long as you remember him then he will never be gone. I'm proud of you for saving him and seeing that he had the best possible home, even if it meant that he lived with you. I think rescued animals know that they have been given a second chance and since you were his first contact he bestowed that love on you. And you know that there is another poor dog out there waiting to come into your heart, not to take White Dog's spot but to again fill it with love.

I am sorry for your loss. You saved the dog's life and he loved you for it!! Sounds like you had a wonderful relationship. I know he must have been a very happy dog and he had you to thank for that. Again so sorry. This is a wonderful poem about loss of a pet.
RainbowsBridge.com
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I know how you feel. I have lost pets before. Animals are truly loved by many and it hurts when they are gone. Dont worry, he is still thinking of you. You are his hero. He obviously loved you a lot and you meaned as much to him as he did to you. You are very lucky that you were able to experience his love. Don't feel sad for him, he had a wonderfull life and he has you to thank. So, I just want to thank you myself for rescuing him. THANK YOU!!!! My nickname for you is now Hero.

There is a wonderful web site you need to visit where you can share your grief with others who understand and care.

Every Monday they have an online candle lighting ceremony to honor pets who have passed.
