People disagree, even ministers, priests, etc. So, they roll their own, so to speak.

You are missing the bigger picture here slightly.
Christianity, Judaism, Islam. ONE RELIGION!! Just different denominations.
They are come off of the same tree, just different branches. The only real difference between Jews and Christians is Jesus. Islam is the same, it recognises that Jesus was a prophet just not the son of God, they believe Mohammad was (I think)
PEOPLE choose to make denominations to suit there own personal preferences or views. Take the church of England. It was only invented so Henry VIII could get divorced! People are just sheep which is worrying.
I personally think it is a waste of time believing in God, you will never know any way. If there was a God and he wanted to be known about, he could make it a bit clearer couldn't he!? Also if he's so good, he'll understand why I doubted his existence, lets face it I could always throw it back at him and say 'well you made me cynical'

A general falling away from the truth occurred after the death of Christ’s Apostles. This is called the Apostasy.
When Jesus Christ lived on the earth, He established His Church. After His Ascension into heaven, His Apostles carried on His work under His direction, through revelation and with His priesthood authority.
After the Apostles and many righteous Church members were killed and other members departed from the truth, the Lord took the priesthood authority and His Church from the earth. Without God’s priesthood authority, the Church no longer functioned as Christ had established it. The ordinances were changed and many plain and simple truths were lost. While many good people and some truth remained, the original Church was lost.
The Apostles prophesied of the falling away or Apostasy. One example is Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians (2 Thessalonians 2:1–3).
All the denominations resulted when men tried to follow the truth as they understood it without divine guidance from God's prophets.

Denominations are created when people respond to a particuar revelation. Sometimes other people do not accept that revelation and a split, or schism, occurs.
However, all Christians desire to be more Christlike. So, all Christians approach the same goal and, in doing, become more alike. In this there is unity. So denominations do not matter. Only obedience to the teachings of Christ and His Apostles.

Religion is a highly profitable business. The reason is the same reason there are various types of burger restaurants. Just various businesses trying to get a "piece of the action". They even advertise their particular "brand" of god on television and the like. It rather discounts any of them being "the true word of god", don't you think?

Excellent question...
It really seems like Christians don't even agree with one another...
I am sure that some Christians say they are the "true" Christians and that the others are "usurpers".
Gosh... As a non-theist, I am freed from such an intrinsic incoherence :-)

when you have different DENOMINATIONS, it comes down to that
old adage," DIVIDE AND CONTROL" you are right when you say
why so many DENOMINATIONS, the churches have always seem to be at varience with each other when it comes to the
scriptures. they can't agree on any topic so they divide themselves and create their own following, hence, divide and
control those who adhere to their doctrine and dogmas!!!!!!
christianity is most of all a man made religion with pagan ideas!!!

Religion is all man made, from start to finish, whatever suits you, make it up and include it in your new thoughts and spread the word. Charge everyone to listen to you and you will soon be rich without working.

because there is a devil whose only goal in life is to divide and conquer, and picks on peoples weakness and causes divisions, in every religion and in every society and in every walk of life , between friends, husbands wives, etc. causing division and confusion is his only purpose.
Its strange that most people believe in the devil, and demons and evil spirits and dont believe in a loving forgiving God. It's not God who is confused its people.
