about other faiths...where is the contributions to the human race????

If I'm wrong...please list the atheist hospitals and Universities built in the NAME of atheism!

Well, here in the UK we have the NHS.
The National Health Service was set up on the 5th July 1948 to provide healthcare for all citizens, based on need, not the ability to pay. The NHS is funded by the taxpayer and managed by the Department of Health, which sets overall policy on health issues. So *pretty* secular there........The same can be said for our state school system.
As for whether atheists shoud shut-up-or-put-up as to improving mankind - you will find that most atheists are more proactive when it comes to civil issues than theists, for the simple reason that we accept responsibility for humankinds failings rather than blaming a devil or waiting for a god to sort it out for us.

please quit calling atheism a religion, it is not and you know that, or else you are as dumb as your question makes you sound.
Next, the atheists have been building the hospitals for over 2 thousand years, and trying to effect actual cures. If it was up to the religious we would still only have prayers, beatings and dunking when we get sick. the atheists have had to work through whatever organizations they have been able to access to get the job done. If you want to see atheist hospitals look at the ones not named after saints. Like the ones named for political figures or places or universities. Then add into the mix about half of those named for religious figures and operated under the flags of various churches.
When you are seeing the atheist questions and answers and wondering why so many of them are so well versed in the scriptures think in paranoid terms. The best atheists are often sitting in the same pew as you are, serving on church councils and directing church policy.

Whatever an atheist does to help other, he doesn't do it in the name of "atheism", it seems you don't have a clue about what "atheism" is. I still have to meet an atheist around my area who is not involved in any social activity.

Building a hospital in the name of "atheism" would certainly be very arrogant.

Please provide some examples of atheists claiming that atheism is a religion, a verified atheist that's it and not one of those impostors around. As far as I'm concerned, it's some of the believers around here in YA who claim that "atheism" is a religion.

In my country, a lot of organizations that are created to help the needed are laic, that's the kind of organizations we atheists usually support.

Atheism is not a religion. (BTW, neither is secular humanism.)

I'm constantly reading LTTEs about "the religion of secular humanism"--in reference to it's supposedly taking over the government and driving out good, Christian values--and it makes me want to tear my hair out because... [repeat after me, once more, and with feeling]:

Atheism is not a religion.

If anything atheism rejects religion.

Atheism IS a "belief system" of sorts, but a belief system is not the same thing as being a religion.

And--this may shock you--but unless a charitable institution or other type of organization is specifically affiliated with some religion or another, it is a secular organization (this despite the number of people within that organization who may be religious--the fact that religious people work for an organization does not make the organizatio itself a religious one--do you understand the distinction?). So that blows your whole theory about atheists never doing anything for anybody.

former soviet union was an atheist country and they have accomplish great achievement in science and medicine they even went to space before the U.S. Also in case if you don't Know most U.S. public universities are not affiliated with any religion or Gods. the public system in the U.S. is secular except one thing they have religious holiday ( and I don't understand why they call it holiday, actually you take obligatory days off from work to fulfill religious obligation which is a Job in itself and I think it is unconstitutional ) I suggest that you take a holiday from religion and enjoy atheism and may be you can answer then your own question.

Atheism is not a religion. It's a denial of all religions. And most schools and hospitals are atheistic as in they follow no religion.

If they did I would much prefer going to a hospital founded by intelligent-minded individuals rooted in scientific fact and medical knowledge and skill, than to a so-called "faith based" hospital associated with some organized religion.

Um.... okay.

I work for Robert Wood Johnson, a hospital in association with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. No mention of God here.

Atheist religion? Never heard of it.

Also every public school and hospital is atheist, not necissarily built by an atheist but they follow no religion.
