Depends on your DVD recorder, is part of your computer system? Or is it a stand alone system?
Not sure if you can hook up a vhs to a computer, since it is analog to digital, there is a device for phono hook up to a computer and it might work for vhs.
If it is just a DVD recorder, hook up is easy.
Hook up your audio/video outputs from your vhs to the audio/video inputs of your DVD player. Hit play on your vhs and record on your DVD.

Easy if you have a panasonic dmr es-40v. You put the vhs in, put a blank dvd in, and press dub.
