Some people on here seem to get a huge kick out of answering people's questions with something rude, irrelevant or just plain crass. Why don't they quit it already? It's not funny or entertaining. If you want to be funny, post in the jokes section. I am so sick of seeing some poor young girl asking a serious women's health question only to be answered by a bunch of buffoons who think they're hilarious. And why did I need to get an obnoxious and rather repulsive response to my wine and cheese question? maybe I'm just feeling intolerant today. Is it just me?

t-mite and Logan, thank you for the fine examples.

I think I'm done here. Too many "retarts". The spelling, rudeness and general idiocy are too much for me.

"Jerk" is a very, very appropriate screen name. I thought you were going to stay away from my posts? So now you're crude, insensitive and a liar to boot! Your parents must be so proud of you. Why don't you stick to the joke section where you belong?

Some people may not realize that they are affecting the person asking. They may just be insensitive to others or just may no care at all for anyone but themselves. I answer the stupid questions with a stupid answer but in most cases answer truthfully and in the most helpful manner possible. There are all forms of folks out there just dont let the insensitive ones get you down.

I think that people are just trying to get points, and it is a lot faster and easier to write something funny or inappropriate than it is to actually give the question some thought and come up with a well-thought, intelligent response.

I have the same thing happen to me all the time, and I don't have much patience for it either.

It's not just you.

And although this isn't where you were looking for your answers, in regard to your wine/cheese question, I'd take everyone's advice about wine and cheese pairings, and then I'd also find some really different wines and cheeses that people may not have had before (think: cherry wine or wine from another fruit).

I'll post some more ides on that thread. But seriously, it's not just you.

I just started using Yahoo Answers recently, so I can't say this for sure, but we might see a drop in the rude and crass answers once school starts back up again. Remember, summer vacation is still going on for a lot of kids, and since parents apparently don't have their kids do chores anymore, they have tons of free time to kill. Then again, I could be wrong about this. After all, once school starts, the kids will still be free in the evenings and on weekends. But maybe, since they have to spend all day in school, they'll be motivated to go outside and/or spend some time with friends on the weekends and during the evenings. That is, unless the teachers don't assign homework anymore, which is a sneaking suspicion that I have.

Regardless of the ignorant answers, I have had really good answers to my questions. Sometimes, readers will give me insight that I haven't thought of before. I recently asked for a recipe and I got wonderful answers. I do hate the stupid answers and the stupid questions, like "Am I pregnant?" As if we really know! I provide stupid answers to those stupid questions, but there are a lot of questions from people who really need help and those are the ones I try to answer. I also like to do the word play and riddles section for fun. Try not to let it deter you from using Yahoo Answers. Just pick what seem good questions and answer those and avoid the stupid ones. As for asking questions, unfortunately you can't avoid what answers you get. Maybe try posting a question early in the morning or really late at night and hopefully you will get mature adults reading and answering. Of course at night, you have the risk of drunk adults, so I guess you have to take the good with the bad!

I think that some people lack the intelligence to answer questions with an educated response. Yet they answer anyway because they can't resist those two points. It's like they believe there's a hidden treasure at the end of the levels! It's not just you, I get annoyed as well.

I know what you mean. If someone posts a "ladies only please" then it acts as "all guys come here and say the most disgusting thing you've thought of today." Unfortunately some people have no empathy. If someone is asking a serious question, I try to be serious and helpful. Some people don't know where the line between funny and inappropriate is.

You are just being intolerant judging by your own answer to a post last night that was not exactly polite. You took great pleasure in insulting religious people in it. This is the quote, I cut and pasted it for you. It won best answer in a question from lost&confused.

"The zealots on here are going to have a field day telling you that the Bible is God's word delivered to man but if you asked them to quantify that statement they wouldn't know whether to sh!t or go blind"

Next time you decide to judge people, make damn sure you are not guilty of the same thing.

You have to learn to ignore those who are here just to mock and waste time. That's the way some people are, especially on the Internet. You can't make them go away, and you can't make them change, but you can provide them with a good example. Concentrate on how you comport yourself. You're not responsible for anyone's actions but your own. Show them how it's done.

It's not just you. So many people think they are funny, but they are simply NOT funny. It would be nice if they all just go to the jokes section and leave everyone else in peace.
