I have a white silkie rooster that bred with a black bantam. There are three babies. One has one of those almond shaped combs. Another chick has like an afro, while the other one just has a regular head. I checked one of the chicks, and he had 4 toes and one little short stubby toe. Are these silkies? Or are they bantams? Or is it possible to have a mix? Best answerer gets 10 pts!

You are lucky. I had a mix, they all were hatched out having foot deformaties that were so bad they could not thrive. I do not know the answer though, but have done some chick raising and silkies do best when both hen and rooster are same. Make sense?
