Typically, but not always, lot of cramping, and depending on how far into a pregnancy you are, large quantities of blood and some fairly large clots.
While most people will say it's probably not necessary to see a doctor, I believe you should see your doc to make sure your miscarriage is complete, and so that he's aware of your reproductive history for your records.
Also, it's good to be checked out to avoid possible pelvic infections from an incomplete miscarriage and to determine the possible cause (if one can be discerned).

To miscarry doesn't mean that you will lose blood as the sign of miscarriage! I have lost 2 babies one at 8 weeks and 1 at 20 weeks and the was no cramping or blood. I went to the doctor and there was no heartbeat. The sign at 20 weeks was that I stopped feeling her move and there was no signs at all with the baby i lost at 8 weeks. Yes I had to go to the doc again to have a check up. It really depends on how far along you are. Good luck

It depends on how far along you are. If it is an early miscarriage, it may just feel like a heavy period, with extra cramping and clotting. If the miscarriage is later on, then you would have significant pain and bleeding and you need to see a doctor.

From my experience (I have had two at 7 weeks along, twice this year) it's alot of heavy bleeding, severe cramps. You should go to your doctor to make sure you don't need a D&C. It's very painful & hurts like hell, but after about a week you should start feeling better.

Different for everyone. Some feel nothing at all. You definitely need to go to the doctor in ALL cases. You are at risk for infection anytime you miscarry.

Cramps and lots of blood. You don't have to go to the doctor unless you keep bleeding alot.
