When the Holy Ghost entered the apostles they started to speak in tongues--languages that they didn't know.

Some of the charismatic religions stage shows were people do appear to speak in tongues.

The Baptist does not believe that anyone can speak in tongues.

As for those who hear voices, it is a pretty common mental disorder and there are drugs that can treat this. Of course these people aren't going to want to take drugs to cure their disorder, they don’t believe that they even have one.

I have seen a case where strong religious conviction was tied directly to a person's mental illness. When I first met the man he was a reasonable intelligent human, but that changed once he went off the prescribed medications. He started spouting religious nonsense. Like quotes from the bible that didn't pertain to the conversation. In the latter stages he was calling everyone sinners and preaching that they should repent. There are many people who would claim that this guy was only preaching the truth, and was not insane. Except he had been hospitalized several times for this and his other behavior was erratic.

I don't think that all religious people are insane. I just think that a lot of insane people tend to resort to religion in an attempt to explain a world that they no longer understand. People who speak in tongues and people who "hear" the Holy Ghost are such people. Along with those that claim God is speaking to them.

The Holy Ghost is a spirit that fills a person and inspires them. Neither it nor God or Jesus (who are all the same entity) would directly influence a person's actions. That is not God's way. God has given man the freedom of choice. This explains why there are good and evil persons in the world and why some people have a different religion.

If you were present on the day of Pentecost, listening to Paul, you were seeing and hearing the Holy Ghost. Which is what Acts 2:33 is talking about. It has nothing to do with today, merely the miracle going on then and there. Read the chapter in context.

I've not seen him per say, but many times I've "heard him" so to speak. When I pray, sometimes I do hear an audible voice inside me saying things I was even thinking about saying, and as a result somtimes my prayers are not answered the way I prayed them, but in the way the Holy Spirit in me prayed them, and as a result the turn out was far greater than I'd expected.
Was facing trial long time ago, and I prayed for one thing, while the Holy Spirit prayed for something else. Today, instead of in prison or on special probation, I'm a totally free man.
ENOUGH SAID!!!

Cetain people like the saints, have, yes. But mostly I think hearing the Holy Ghost is like your conscience kind of or your spiritual instinct. But also, you can't interperate the bible. Due to translations, not everyhting can be taken literally. Such as, when it says that God made the world in 7 days, no one really knows if that meant a full earth 168 hours.

You can not see the Holy Spirit, because, He is a Spirit. The Holy Spirit speaks to Believers through the Word of God. He also leads us in our walk through a word from other people and impresses us through our spirit.

are you experiencing this when you are in worship? This would probably be normal. If you are hearing audible voices all the time, I would get checked by a doctor just to be on the safe side. Good luck

Only true believers may be visited by the Holy Ghost, to point you in the right direction, went one has gone astray.
Have you ever heard your name called, in your mind, when there is no-one else in the room.
That is the time to listen, with all your heart and all your mind.

The Holy Ghost , or Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God dwelling in us and guiding us in ways to do God's will. If he so choose, He can materialize and speak to us in a manner we are accustomed.

It is actually your mind and your heart telling you thoughts that are from the Holy Ghost.
