I don't think it's considered a curse. It may offend some people, but so can other words.

Dear Sweetest,
First i'm a bit curious as to why the question is addressed to Christians only. i guess maybe some Christians have corrected you when you've used that word perhaps? You'd have to ask them individually regarding that.
We've the cuss words we have today because people have agred upon the meaning of that word. I've heard believers use the word "pissed" before and in general i'm more worried about why they're "pissed, angry, ticked off, etc." than as to using that word.
There is no doctrine or church stance or anything in the Christian community regarding the usage of that word. So i don't think anyone could give you a fair and universal answer as to why some Christians regard it as a bad word while others may not. Other words like the f word, s word, etc. are in deed bad words.
Christians do adhere to the fact that the tongue can be both a source of blessing or cursing. They are to build others up with their words and not tear them down. In general Christians anger should be regarding social injustices and things of that sort... so in general why and what they are "pissed" about is more important than the fact that they use that word...
i hope that helps.

I am a strong christian and I do not consider 'pissed' to be offensive at all.
On the same token, it's rather hard to offend me *anyway*
I limit how much I say the f word or *hit only because others find it offensive, and I am not one to intentionally offend people.
I only find those words offensive when they are used in a derogatory way towards someone, calling them a piece of **** when it is undeserved, or saying f you to a person.
I would dare to say that any word can be a bad word in the context you use it in, the tone and true meaning of how you say it. The Lord looks at your heart's intentions and not how you pronounce four-letter words.

I'm a Christian; "pissed" has never been a curse word to me and I do use it without reaction from others. However, some people don't like it because it is generally considered a more vulgar and classless slang term, as it is rooted in bodily functions and all that stuff (i believe). but if someone didn't want me to use it for any reason, i'd refrain out of respect for them.

I don't consider it a cuss word, but remember in other cultures the word means completely different things. In Britain, being pissed means being drunk.

It's not a bad word. It just doesn't sound nice. No it's not a verb! A verb is an action word, pissed is not an action. It's an emotion

I don't know why you think it would only affend Christians, I'm sure there are other folks out there that it would bother as well!
The dictionary shows it to be - Vulgar Slang
v. pissed, piss·ing, piss·es
v. intr.
To urinate.
v. tr.
To urinate on or in.
To discharge (blood, for example) in the urine.
n.
Urine.
The act or an instance of urinating.
I guess if you want to say your are peeing on someone, then use that word... personally I prefer to not hear it. Our bodily functions are something that should be kept personal :)

why are you asking only christians? and for ur info-- it is considered a cuss word in british slang, because it can be used to mean F*** OFF as in piss off, or to mean i'm angry, as in i'm pissed,--- it's considered a cuss word to some and just bad language to others, that's all

Is it? I've never heard that no before. I say it all the time, like nearly everyday. I'll have to look into that and see if I need to stop saying it or not. If it is bad, I'm saying now "Sorry Lord, please forgive me". It might be because it can be used interchangedly with angry. Many believe you are not suppose to get angry but its all a matter of what you get angry about. Jesus got angry at the merchants in the temple though.

I don't necessarily consider it a cuss word, but a word that just doesn't sound nice. I know I never allowed my kids to say it. In some countries for example it refers to being drunk... While it isn't like telling someone to F*** off, it still does not sound nice... Why not just say I am mad, or I am drunk???
