In the UK the AVERAGE cost of a wedding was recently given as £21,000!
Both my daughters had excellent weddings - with a catered reception and 100 - 150 guests - at a cost of around £5000 for each event!
(£1000 = approx $1850)

Depending on the location. The number of guest, Food, Liquor, with a D.J. will run U about 33-45.00 a person plus your dress flowers gifts for the wedding party invitations any thing special that you may want to have. All that comes into place when planning a wedding. For an average Wedding it can range from 10,000-30,000. It's all about what u want the number of guest and the wedding party.

This question is like the "average" temperature.....It never is exactly that, but just a bunch of numbers added up, and divided by the initial quantity. You can get married for as little as $150 bucks, or have a wonderful wedding for 3 to 5 grand....There is of course the budget buster 10 to 50 grand wedding, but I would recommend staying away from being in debt for the rest of your lives!!!
Have fun, be happy, and be sensible!!

Depends on the size, location, band vs. d.j, how many guests, teirs of cake, what you will be having for the meal, if you want an expensive gown, etc. You can go really inexpensive and just invite your immediate family and have dinner at an exquisite restaurant (that's what I did) for about $3,000. Or, you can go all out and hire a d.j, cater in food, etc. for about $8,000 - $10,000. It depends how many people you wish to feed and send invitations to. The more you invite though, the more gifts you will receive. :)
Good Luck and happy wedding!

Whatever you can afford and shop around. Set a limit so your not in debt for years to come and if something happens your not still paying for the wedding and divorce at the same time.

I just have to tell you my opion: i was married when i was 17 years old and it costed about 2,000.00 and that seemed like a lot of money but now i am going through a divorce. i think it should be the other way around. to many people getting married because they think they love one another when in the future it turns into something awful. so instead of haveing to pay so much for a divorce i think it should be very pricely to get married and then young couples who think they are in love wont be jumping into marriage, its easy to get married but hard to get a divorce. Think about this before you make any decisions, is he/she the person you want to spend the rest of your life with and there will be no other... can you answer that without a doubt?

Depends on where you have it and what you serve. If you're going with the castle idea that you asked about, it's going to be much more expensive than, say, a wedding in your local church or park.

In 1978 , I attended a reception that cost over $50,000.00.
I have a family member who attended quite a few that were in excess of $200,000.00.
So , I guess the sky is the limit

Depends on what you want but somewhere between $12,000-$30,000. We kept ours simple but classic and it still cost a lot. Weddings are just very costly events....best wishes!
