They both are close-minded, intolerant, and judgemental. If you were stuck with one group or the other, which would it be?

Just in the interest of fairness about the witchburning comment, the godless nazi killed 6 Million Jews, and the atheistic marxists have done better than that.

It was an anology. There are open minded/tolerant religious and non-religious people on Y!A, but then there is the intolerant minority, that I, right or wrong called fundamentalists, since the traits from either camp, is similar.

Being a fundamentalist in any of the two does not make things worse. What makes it worse is the idea of hating one another because of their differences. The essence of religion is for one to become a good moral person in search of his spiritual understanding why he is here on earth while becoming an atheist is to develop a person into searching for an actual and factual clue to his existence. Both are parallel lines that will never meet but definitely will have certain end of understandings.
We are the ones who makes things worse because we never learn from both.

What is an atheistic fundamentalist? The only thing that all atheists really have in common is that they don't believe any gods exist... in that case anyone who is atheist is an atheistic fundamentalist.

I'm voting that there is no such thing since atheism is not a religion.

I am far from closed minded. I am willing to believe anything that is proposed assuming there is good evidence behind it. The only thing I'm intolerant of is ignorance. Judgmental... who isn't? You judge people every day... you're doing it right now with your question.

By saying "athiestic fundamentalists" you are inferring that there are different levels of atheism.

Wrong.

You do not believe there is a god. End of story and belief pattern.

However, being an atheist, I have the highest respect for fundamental christians (I think they're wacko, but I still have the highest respect for them). Fundies are the only ones with the cojones to stand up and say that the bible is fully complete, inerrant, literal and the word of god.

Every other christian is just a wishy-washy namby-pamby wimp.

"I believe in god but I don't believe in the flood" or "I believe in god but I don't believe creationism". These are not christians, and if you've made similar statements, you're not either.

well if i had to be stuck with one or the other it would be the atheistic fundamentalists. This is because their story is short and not much to say. However im neither. I don't feel the need to talk about how anyone or anything can improve the lives of someone who wants an easy answer.

I'm christian, but gotta admit, fundies get on my last nerve, but after having viewed on YA how nasty and rude some of the atheists are, I'd have to chose the atheists as the ones I'd have to commit hari-cari if stuck in a room with them too long, then they could go hail their "big bang from nothingness" without any interference. I don't even think God would blame me for committing suicide.

religious fundamentalists are the ones that are closed minded, they only believe in what is told to them by someone who doesn't know how to run there own life, look at how they try to judge others and try to brain wash people into thinking there way, they just don't let people live and let live.

Both. Then they could argue with each other, convinced the other was a group of total morons, openly hating each other and achieving nothing while I get the hell out of there.

Fundamentalism is a platform on which atheists and religious fanatics are leveled by ignorance.:-)

I have never known an atheist to burn someone alive because they were a witch.

I will stay with the atheists.
