My husband recently began thinking about getting circumcised. Oddly enough i've never been with a circumcised man and didn't really know how to respond when he told me he was thinking about having it done? Is it really any different at all? How does it feel different? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Well any answers/advice would help really.

My husband is circumsized, it just means that the doctors will take away the extra skin. It looks cleaner and they say that guys who are circumsized are less likely to get any kind of virous or infection down there. My husband and I got our son circumsized for that reason. Plus it's easier to clean when diaper changing. Hope it helps.

It does make a difference between being circumcised or not. Men are born with something that's meant to be there for a reason. And anyone that says that uncircumcised men are more pron to virus or infections, need to do some studying to understand what circumcising really means and what it means to a man. It has everything to do with the cleanliness of that man and how he takes care of himself not just because there is extra skin there. This society listens to everyone else instead of the actual proven fact information that is provided by health care providers and that's said because "people get their son circumcised just because they have a daddy who is" not because its necessarily needed just because people think its the right thing to do. It will be very painful for your husband simply because he is older and I want to say very Brave. There is no reason why he should but if that's something he wants to do then at least he gets to decide for himself. But it will be way different simply because something will be missing and you will feel the difference trust me. ;)

Why does you husband want to become circumcised? I have recently done a lot of research on circumcision because I am about to give birth to a little boy. There is not sufficient evidence to support the routine circumcision of infant boys. http://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;103/3/686

Adult circumcision is more complicated and has greater risk factors.

Wikipedia has tons of information on the subject.

Circumcision is more for social and religious reasons than for medical reasons. Occasionally the foreskin gets in the way and causes major complications, thus must be removed.

In my opinion, the foreskin is a natural and normal part of the human body. Just because there is a very small chance of complications does not justify it's removal. There is a small chance that we may develop tonsillitis, but they don't remove our tonsils just because.

Why does he want to be circumsized? He's married so it's not like he wants to do it and get out in the dating world. It also hurts a lot when a man is older. There's no point in doing it unless he gets a lot of infections which I doubt.

Do a research on the internet. I did one months ago (sorry, i don't remember what website) and i read that men are less sensitive when they are cimcurmcised. Also, it is going to be very painful. So, my advice is to print out anything that you find, and let him read it. He might change his mind.

My husband is not cirmcumcised.
