Dark chocolate is. It has antioxidants which help prevent cancer. Don't listen about calories or sugar content. If you enjoy in moderation and brush after, the pros outweigh the cons.

Black chocolate (at least 70 % cocoa) is good for you, as long as you dont abuse ( a couple of squares a week is a good choice). The higher the percentage of cocoa the better, you will aqquire the taste after a while, that's when you can switch to higher levels of cocoa. Read the lable, cocoa butter should be the only fat in it (its a good fat), some cheaper brands contain hydrogenated fats or palm oil, wich is realy bad for you.
Dark chocolate contains antioxydents, so does red wine (in moderation, of course) and green tea.
Now what is very good for you is to also eat plenty of fruit and veggies, whole grain products, lots and lots of water and also lots and lots of exercise. Indulge in your chocolate, guilt free!

an occasional chocolate fondue is also nice

200 grams of toblerone chocolate
200 grams of dark (70 % cocoa) chocolate
3 tablespoons of 15 % cream ( having cream once in a while is ok)

Melt the chocolate very slowly
serve with strawberries, cantaloop balls, bananas, pears, oranges etc.

There are some health benefits listed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocolate#Health_benefits which suggest moderate cardiovascular benefits from limited amounts of dark chocolate (not milk chocolate). It's also true that chocolate is an aphrodisiac and and can improve your mood and mental health. Be careful not to overindulge, otherwise you counter the benefits with high caloric, high fat intake. The intake of two dark (60%) ghirardelli squares per day is perfect!
