I am scheduled for a CT scan on thursday, and I have been having nasal blockage on one side, and ear pressure on that side off and on now for months and months ( like 9 to be exact) My doc seems pretty confident that it is allergies, but wants to do a scan to make sure its not nasal cancer or saomething else.

My symptoms:
right nasal blockage, and ear pain
dizziness
general ill feeling
my temp is almost always 99.2
swollen glands on both side of neck but more so on right
fatigue
and weakness

This could all be a mix of deprssion, and allergies...but does anyone think this is cancer????

your complants sound very general. The chance's that it is nasal cancer are VERY VERY small. Nasal cancer has some of the symptoms you listed but is a very rare disease. You also might have frequent bloody noses too. How much do you smoke?

I would not be worrying about it until you get a scan and see what is happening. You have a fever. It could be caused by infection. Your glands could be swollen because it's an infection.
You have nasal blockage and ear pain...infection. If your doctor can see up your nose and not see anything then it could just be a nasty infection deep in your sinuses. I had a friend who had such bad sinuses he had to have them scraped clean they caused him such woes.

A CT scan sounds scary but it's a great thing and can rule out a lot. Even if it were to confirm it's cancer, these days it's very treatable and it's not as bad as you would think. More frightening than anything else, and the drugs work so rapidly you would be feeling better within weeks.

But it doesn't do a thing to worry about what you don't know. Trust me. I've been there. Live your life one day at a time and save your strength for recovering your health.

If I were you, I would listen to my doctor. The worse part of a CT scan is the noise. Maybe they have fixed that - I had my CT scan 20 years ago.
Depression can have a lot of symtoms, and so can allergies. Every spring, I get depressed, a sinus infection, and migraines. I hope you get a clean bill of health!

Dont worry about something that may never happen, or every little symptom you will thinking the worst. It may be a sinus complaint, that covers 5 of the things you mention. Have your scan and get it off your mind, i would guess at no not cancer.

My kid did this and I finally had to take her for a CT and she had nasal/sinus surgery.
