Why are there so many fundamentalist Budhists, and so many fundamentalist Neo-pagans, and so many fundamentalist Pastafarians?

Why do you think that is?

You're joking, right? The fundies who are regulars know who they are. And, last time I checked "fundies" was our term for fundamentalist christians only. And pastafarians are too passive to be on your case.

There are honestly fundamentalist atheists. they have a tendency to insist on particular literal readings of the Bible and refuse to evaluate the texts in any incorrect way. even whilst those texts are greater advantageous than 2700 years old and poetry (you be conscious of, that stuff with metaphor ;-). they provide the impact of being to like to circulate on God is evil rants and overlook in regards to the undeniable fact that the thoughts contained in the Tanakh are unquestionably extremely easy whilst in comparison with different writings from that era. I even have yet to locate individual who's interested in a communicate of the texts from the POV of archaeology, anthropology, historic previous or perhaps how Judaism makes use of the thoughts. i've got seen countless (yet no longer all) write approximately their previous as fundamentalist Christians. it somewhat is like they're nonetheless fundamentalists, basically coming at it from the alternative place. i be conscious of somebody who identifies as Wiccan and behaves in comparable methods, going off on anti-'Abrahamic'/anti-monotheism tirades and refusing to settle for that what she's asserting basically isn't genuine approximately Judaism. i've got seen her get dogmatic on different matters besides, alongside with Wicca. If that replaced into taken some distance sufficient, it ought to in fact be a 'fundamentalist Wiccan'. So 2 factors, IMO: a million) how dogmatically do they insist how their very own ideals being the only marvelous ones or the only proper thank you to coach Wicca etc and 2) in the event that they study the Bible, do they use readings that are in fact fundamentalist Christian.

Well, if it were just the Wiccans and the Shintost then I'd say they were ganging up on you. But since the Budhists and others seem to have the same problem I'd have to go with the guess that your business is all hanging out & you're giving them nowhere else to go but up in it.
