Find something better to do. Be it cooking or exercising or rock climbing. Stay strong... no need to go crazy & obsessed with chewing gum or whatever. In case of extreme emergency where you're about to lose self-control, find a friend or someone you know to be your wingman.

Think about the amount of money you're saving from not smoking... and how you won't be smelling stinky anymore.

By the way, congratulations~!!

Try taking a deep breath thru your nose, hold for 5 seconds, then exhale out of your mouth. Try this 10 times, and the urge should have passed by then. If that doesn't work, try brushing your teeth!
I carried my toothbrush, and paste with me for 2 mos after I quit. Also, try and remember, that no matter how bad your attack is, it will pass. It may take a couple of minutes, but it will pass!

Good luck!

research about Lung cancers and diseases caused by smoking. I just went to singapore and all the cigarettes sold there have these weird little card with a picture of a dead fetus, a lung with cancer, gross teeth and all those caused by smoking. I admit it was helpful, my friend didnt even bought a pack.

Click on "smoking lungs" and look at the pictures. You'll stop for good.

You just take it one urge to smoke at a time. There isn't any magical, easy answer. Basically, you have to say to yourself: "Who's stronger, me or the cigarettes?"

Sunflower seeds and/or find a new hobby (ie building a model car) and stay away from other smokers.
