"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth..."

Genesis, Chapter 1, Verse 1. Everybody here knows it, even the atheists. Except....

When you go back and read the original Hebrew, you find that, where the King James version plugs in the word "God", it actually says, "elohim"....

That's the plural form, ladies and gentlemen.

"The GODS created the heavens and the earth."

When you understand the history of the Old Testament, and how Yahweh evolved from an ancient Canaanite mystery cult that featured a pantheon of gods, a lot of things become much clearer (like why Yahweh can be a "jealous" god, when Christians assert that he's the only "real" god and everyone else's is just pretend.)

What else has your church been withholding from you? Just how much jeopardy is your soul truly in, when your church will only let you have the parts of God's word that they WANT you to have, and conceal the parts that THEY think you can't handle or aren't ready for?

Greetings,
Do you really think God is that incapable to keep His word from being tampered with??? If that is the case then you are not backing the proper God.

The reference that you refer to is relating to the trinity of the Father and not referring to the possibility of different ones.

As stated in the hebrew masoretic God declares that there are no others no not one there is only Him and that there are no other gods like Him. When He refers to other gods he is referring to those that have been devised by cultures that believe and worship inanimate objects that have been given a shape opr form built by men.

This form of address for the Almighty refers to one God, not multiple gods as you say. The reason this form allows plurality, is because the Scriptures teach us that there is One God who exists in three persons. No doubt, you are familiar with the doctrine of the Trinity. With that said, do you imagine that you are more skilled as a linguist than were the translators of the Authorized Version, and thus more qualified to accurately translate Hebrew into English? I say this as kindly as I can, but you clearly do not know the Lord, and your knowledge of the Scriptures is at best superficial. If you were posting a sincere question, your responses would be less sharp, and more respectful. Unfortunately, from your tone, it does not seem that is what you are trying to do. Can't you find something better to do with your time than trying to taunt people who believe the Bible?

God is just another fake creation by man.

Humanity has created many Gods, for example – Gods of Olympus, Ancient Egypt, Babylon and so on. Most of us are atheists about most Gods humanity has created, except the latest craze, the current God in the Bible. Learned atheists have also rejected this version of a God, but some hard-core believers still hang on, presumably until a better image of God is created by man.

Faith in God seems to be nothing more than humans attempting to run away from reality, an excuse to avoid thinking and evaluating evidence. Faith is just an emotional escape and really just a substitute for opening your eyes to reason.

Believers talk about God creating man in his own image. It’s in the Bible so it’s fact – get a grip, get real. The facts suggest the exact opposite. Man created God in his own image. I’m sure humanity will disregard this God, as they have disregarded all previous Gods, it’s just a matter of time before humanity creates another God that better serves their emotions and image.

Uh, bonehead, have you forgotten the passage in the beginning of the Gospel according to John where it explains "In the beginning, the word was with God, and the word was God...and the Word became flesh and lived among us..." God the Father and Jesus the Son were both together from the beginning of time. Jesus attests to this in the Gospel according to John when He says "The Father and I are One." The Apostle Paul also attests to this in his letter to the Hebrews where he exhorts the followers of Christ to be in all things like Jesus Christ "who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be exploited. Instead, He took on the form of a servant and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God exalted Him to the highest, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in Heaven and on Earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD."

If you have nothing better to do with your time than to make these feeble attempts to denounce Christianity, you need to get a life. Better yet, why not try reading the Bible with an open mind instead of trying to find fault with everything you read?

Sorry, you are just plain wrong there. There is only one God, and if you read the rest of the Bible you will see that very clearly. :)
