That would be 'nooses' (not nouses)...and it's mythology so of course they chose something that could carry symbolism well.
The Celts had crosses, but theirs were even on all four sides, versus the xian cross which is longer on the bottom side. It may well be that the xians took their cross idea from the Celts...I haven't really read up on that particular symbol.

If you don't want to be disrespectful...capitalize His name, Jesus. Or if referring to Him, His or He...etc.
To answer your question...I wear mine to remind myself the He died on the cross for my sins (yours too). And as a silent witness that I am a Christian...and if you are interested; ask and I'll share the Gospel of Jesus.
My Messiah died on the Cross; that was His destiny and the reason He came to earth. Would I wear something else if He died another way? I don't know.

People wear the cross to remind them that someone suffered for them, it reminds them to be good people, it reminds them to be good to others. It reminds them that there is hope, and a reason to have faith... no matter what the symbol had been, people would wear it for all those reasons.

probably. my favorite is when the passion of the christ came out, they sold the nails that supposedly nailed jesus on the cross as memorabilia. all to make a buck.

Not really. If he had been killed any other way, it would have proved he was not the Christ, since it wouldn't have fulfilled scripture.
For dogs (Gentiles) have compassed me: the assembly (Jews) of the wicked have enclosed (captured) me: they pierced my hands and my feet (Psalms 22:16)
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him (at the crucifixion), as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn (Zech 12:10).
Just to quote a few...
Obviously you can't 'pierce' with a noose.

I was watching a show the other day, and someone was saying that a crucifix is a symbol of peace. I was just wondering how it's figured as a symbol of peace when it was an instrument of death.

we don't wear the cross because it was the method of execution, we wear it because The Lord carried our sins to the cross. It's because He is our Savior, because He died in our place. The cross is how He died, but we glorify Him, not the cross.
