Pioneer DEH-17 CD Receiver?

is it worth the money does it sound good

I'm sure it sounds good however it is probably not worth the money. Since the invention of CD's, the only thing that really matters is that you have a decent amplifier and good speakers. All a reciever really does now is decode a digital signal and make it analog. A $50.00 receiever can sounds just as good as a $1000.00 receiever if it is amplified properly and has good speakers.

Thats very true. Just find one that looks good to you and has the features you need/want.
