No, it is actually more unlikely that you will get pregnant on your period, but it is possible. Sometimes people get a little confused because when pets, such as cats and dogs, are "in heat", they bleed and this is the time when they are fertile and can become pregnant. For humans, when a woman is menstruating, this is the time after the egg has made it to the uterus. If there is no fertilization, the body does not need the material (blood and tissue) it has prepared to receive and nurture a fertilized egg.

No, of course not. It's not even 100% positive that you will get pregnant if you monitor your ovulation and have sex specifically to coincide with the release of the egg. It is possible, however, depending on the length of your overall cycle and when specifically you ovulate within it. Even as you're shedding the uterine lining from a cycle in which the egg was not fertilized, your body is preparing the next ovulation. If you don't want to get pregnant, don't assume any particular time is safe.

Of course there's no guarantee! Most people will say that the only chance you have of getting pregnant is during your "fertile days" (**typically** the 10th - 14th days after your period starts) but a woman can ovulate ANY time during her cycle, including DURING her period. It doesn't mean you'll get pregnant, but there's NO positive answer to whether or not you will.
If you don't want a baby, use birth control ALL the time.

There is never a time when you will get pregnant for sure even if you are ovulating. But I know for a fact that you can get pregnant while you are on your period. There is not a time when you are safe to have sex and not use protection. Even if you cant get pregnant, unless you research each of your partners history there are too many thing you can get from people if you are not careful.

you will 100% NOT get pregnant during your period, even if you can find someone who is willing to do the deed with you at the time. You need to be ovulating to get pregnant, and this happens between 2 and 3 weeks AFTER your period (but do not rely on this for birth control)

Not 100% positive...maybe more like 5%. There have been studies done that women ovulate more than once a month

No. It is never 100% positive. Nor is it ever 100% negative. The best bet is to err on the side of caution. Abstinence is the only sure form of birth control.

When you are on your period you are the least likely to conceive. especially if you have normal periods although some women have become pregnant during their period, it is not the norm.

No. You can get pregnant while you ovulate...and that is exactly 15 days AFTER the start date of your period. So, if you start on the 10th, you ovulate on the 25th.

Don't they teach the basics in "health" class anymore? What about your mother? Where do people get such strange ideas re: sex and pregnancy?
(there is a slight chance you will get pregnant when you have your period but it is very rare)
